as an avid raocow lover... i was saddened to the fact that he did not complete the commander keen series... and seince I'm not exactly a lurker on the SA forums, i have no idea as to why he decided to stop... however, for anyone who was interested, but has no idea how to get the games (legitimately) this is something i stumbled across a few times, but never thought to put on the haus. (because i never registered as i never had anything worthwhile to say.)

steam, the online game depository, apparently has every single one of them, packed together for 5$.
worth it? decide for yourself.
Commander keen
Re: Commander keen
Oh yes, it's definitely worth it.
But are they lying? They say it's a complete pack but I'm missing episode 6 and Keen Dreams
And I still want raocow to finish the series, but honestly episode 4 is the best one and he played that so I can understand if he never looks back at them again.

Re: Commander keen
no clue. apparently 6 was lost to time somehow? just thought I'd put that up here because 5$ for 5 games is always good... i guess?
... maybe if we run around the internet we can find 6 and dreams on a shareware site...?

Keen Dreams:

Commander Keen 6:
http://www.cdosabandonware.com/std_game ... ameid=1186
(I believe this is the full version, but it could be the demo)

Re: Commander keen
Keen 6 was published by FormGen, and Keen Dreams was published by SoftDisk. Steam only has a license to sell games published by Apogee/3dRealms.
I'm still bummed out that raocow never finished LPing the Keen games - zan, the reason he stopped is because saving the game in the middle of the level (basically savestating) required you to go to the menu and back, and editing that out disrupted the flow of his commentary. Also a lot of people just hated the series for some reason.
It would be interesting to go back, considering that raocow now edits his SMW videos in the exact same manner and plays savestateless - this is exactly what people used to bitch about.

I agree, I think it would work out quite good though.Thissa wrote:It would be interesting to go back, considering that raocow now edits his SMW videos in the exact same manner and plays savestateless - this is exactly what people used to bitch about.

Re: Commander keen
still do want the comeback of keen \o/
... mostly because i like raocow's commentary... and i wouldn't have the patience to play the games myself.
