in responce to the Lakitu mentions in today's video: seeing how his name in Japan is Jugem, I doubt Lakitu means anything in Japanese

A mine level with Banjo-_____ music, and it's not Glitter Gulch Mine's?

I don't know what the hell is going on with this game though. That was a really sudden spike in difficulty. I'm not saying its a really really difficult mario game, but it is pretty challenging considering earlier levels..

And even this first level in world 6 is killing me. Really well hidden secret key somewhere. Or I'm just bad at noticing obvious things.

Christmas Eve isn't something we really celebrate in Holland so it's just another day. Some go to church. I don't.

About first reaction thingies, it isn't to bad if we miss it in a relatively normal stage, but if it is somewhat crazy and gimmicky those reactions can be pretty fun. The downside is that those crazy and gimmicky things can be really insanely hard though.

Man that post-castle music wasn't just cave music, it was story music too! In fact, one could even say it was Cave Story music... HUZZAH!
And now the coast is clear, I just need to deal... with my number one fan.
Riku~n, why do you keep wanting to murder me like this?
I wouldn't mind that smile so much if your skin wasn't made of poison for some reason.

So today we have two levels:
Extremely Fun Mine Cart Hell
Well Then, Shall We Reveal The Truth Now?

In all seriousness, the Mine Cart level seemed a lot like Extremly Fun Lift Hell in VIP4, and The lightning segment in the castle looked quite like the secret final level in VIP3.

Just wondering if I'm the only one noticing this.

Aren't the VIPs an inspiration to all who want to do something with ASM and gimmicks these days?

Apparently!
Also, now that I think about it, the part with the hitting the P-Switch to turn on the lights is kind of like Invisible Keep in The Cookie Crisis.

Unfortunately, very few of them are any good.

Also, is it just me or does Cypher seem more interested in concept over function. Like the minecarts. He doesn't seem concerned with the fact that the minecart isn't a platform (despite going completely straight ahead) so you keep sliding off of it. Or the ridiculous (and sometimes unwarranted) slowdown in the first game.

Or the fact that the end of the last game/most of this game has absolutely no flow.

Like I said on YouTube, the exact translation of Shun Goku Satsu is "Instant Hell Murder", but like Kilga said, American gamers tend to refer to it as "Raging Demon", so I'm pretty sure all three terms are equally "correct".

Man, no spoilers here, but the first level of world 5 is AWESOME.
Also, I'm pretty sure tomorrows video will be "a thing".

Oh, I'd imagine there's going to be quite a few "a things" coming up in the second half of the game.

There are 603 munchers on the main path of the level. You're welcome.

It's an interesting (read: frustrating) thing I've noticed that whenever Racoow encounters danger, he just kind of freaks out and cowers in fear, completely missing ample chances to move forward because he's too worried, and he ends up sitting in one spot for about a minute. And then he'll get through it and run headfirst into some actual danger which he should take a moment to get through and die.

Now that you mention it, that is pretty weird.
Before I upload it, maybe you better contact cypher. Maybe there is a reason.

yea well, according to my count, there were approximately 591 munchers in that stage (yesterdays video), and I really counted because raocow said "Is anyone willing to try and count them all". xD

Yep. Of course.

Also, I really loved 5-1. It was showing some of the hidden awesomeness in the game.
