Strange youtube notice about gameplay video

Post by KingMike »

So, apparently youtube sent me a notice about a video I uploaded, telling my a video where I play a game or two of Gradius II for Famicom might contain content owned by Konami.
Well, it wasn't a takedown request, but it did say it would put an ad on the video.
First I've gotten one, I suppose right now it's nothing to worry about?

(unless it was because I said right in the title I was playing on an emulator. Uploaded right next to a video where I demoed the game with video capture of a real Famicom running a real cart. The purpose is that I wanted a comparison between the two.
I can't remember for certain why, I just recall playing significantly and consistently suckier on hardware than on emulator, if anybody wanted to explain if there's some noticeable difference, like timing issues.
Yes, I'm aware that my cheap capture card would display a choppy frame rate, making it more difficult to play... this same card that was choppy enough in Darius Twin to hide the second boss' flickering giant lasers, making it seem like I was spontaneously self-dustructing :P
But I was still playing worse on a CRT.)

Yep, nothing to worry about. I believe it was probably because of the music, because that's usually what Youtube gets uppity about, because music copyright is soooo important for videos. But yeah, it doesn't do anything to your channel or give you any strikes to my knowledge, it just puts the ad there. If you monetize your videos and then it gets the copyright claim then I wonder if it WOULD be a problem THEN, but I suspect that you don't so you've got nothing to worry about in any case.
