It is time I consult someone much smarter than I. Chances are I won't get a solution though, but anyways.
I like playing SMW hacks on an SNES Emulator Hacked onto my Wii. It makes it easier to play multiplayer with.
Only problem is, any game with custom music crashes the emulator (and in turn, the Wii). It sounds pretty strange, but it seems to be true. I've already tried 3 hacks with custom music, and they all crashed whenever I entered a door or pipe on a level with custom music, but not before the music glitches out horribly. I then played a hack with music already available in the game, and it worked fine.
I know SMW music can be sorta finniky sometimes. Does anyone know whats going on?

Well, that's weird. I've already played SMW hacks on my Wii SNES emulator without any issues (Scarlet Devil Mario, Brutal Mario, so those sure have custom music). What emulator is installed on your Wii (mine is Snes9X) and is it up to date?

Any version of Addmusic older than AddmusicM or Romi's Addmusic 4.05, both of which are pretty recent, breaks on more accurate emulators. This includes bsnes and newer versions of SNES9x.

That being said, most hacks which were created before late 2010/early 2011 will explode on accurate emulators (unless said hacks are Japanese, in which they'll always explode since the Japanese don't really give two shits about accuracy).
There are a few cases where it will work though, but it really boils down to the songs themselves. If really simple songs (code-wise) were used with no special effects, then the hacks using themshould likely function properly on BSNES.
