He was depressed for various reasons to the point of contemplating suicide, the forum post he made was a goodbye, he wrote it as he had cancer rather than saying that he was committing suicide so people couldn't talk him out of it.

Saw Korpiklaani live at Bloodstock a few years back. Absolutely excellent. I was there to see my all-time favourite musician, Devin Townsend, and as this is the video thread, have a surreal music video of Devin in a suit arguing with Naked Old Man Devin On A Leash w/Barrel onboard a train made out of weird CG paper being driven by a coffee-craving alien:
