I'll be perfectly honest here, I don't think what TSC sells really counts as "the good stuff."

Our tacos can be "the average stuff," or "the mediocre stuff." Or just "the stuff." =P

If he had to stay an extra 40 minutes after closing there were definitely a lot of people that did not show up an hour before closing.

Depending on the store setting, it can be a dick move to come in last minute, especially places where you have to start closing before the store is closed in order to get done on time (I think most places are like that.) At least if it's an hour or so prior they probably aren't super far into closing and as long as you don't order twenty things it should be okay.
Back when I worked at Chuck E Cheese's I HAD to start closing around an hour and a half beforehand if I wanted to get everything done. It's always upsetting to have to reclean something you literally just cleaned a moment ago just because someone wanted pizza half an hour before closing. I did have a person order something that took ten minutes to cook twenty minutes to close along with three other things. I remember barely getting her order out five minutes to close.
I can understand a grocery store, maybe coming in last minute for one thing and then leaving as long as you don't leave a mess, but don't come in last minute to do an hour's worth of grocery shopping in 5 minutes.
Working retail, I understand the bullshit they have to put up with. I try not to leave a big mess or come in last minute, and I always try to be polite to them; it never hurts to.

Retail story time!
Five years ago, when I was working as a cashier at a grocery store on Christmas evening, I had everyone coming in last minute to buy stuff, so the store was packed, even though we were closing early. It got to the point, that when we closed and locked the doors at closing, multiple managers had to stand in front of the doors to keep people out because people wanted to come in after close. It was ridiculous. Christmas comes the same time every year guys, no need to panic like you only heard news of it that day.

Another story!
Same grocery store cashier position. My shift that day was closing, which meant I was the last cashier on duty, so I was schedule usually around 15 to 30 minutes after close to get the last customers out.
One night, my manager closed my till after I was done with every customer, and I went to go get my stuff to go home. I had my bag and whatever in my hands, my hoodie on, and they were about to let me outside when the cash office lady shouted to my manager that there was one customer with a cart full of stuff left in the store. My manager still let me go home since I was already clocked out, but they had to pull out a till *just* for that customer.
We ALWAYS did closing announcements, I think 1 hour, 30 minutes, 15 minutes and at close was the norm. There's NO WAY that customer could've missed the announcement, not to mention half the lights are turned off at close. There's both a sound and light signal. I'm sorry but how dense can you be?

Sorry, I'm full of retail stories. Most I can't remember anymore, but sometimes something'll jog my memory.
He captured!

Anybody know offhand of a good text editor with "bookmarking," assuming such a feature does in fact exist and does what I think it does? It'd most likely be extremely helpful for me right about now.

Hi!

So me and uglyavatar found a random bunny on the way home from somewhere. He said it's been there a week. I called animal control, but they said they don't rescue bunnies.

So what do you guys think we should do? Keep the bunny or ignore it?
metasomnia: Should I snip this off with some scissors?
me: Usually I just rip it open with my teeth.
metasomnia: Well that's because you're an uncouth barbarian.

So my friend Mike is going into running his own hobby/gaming store and wants me to be in charge of comic books, video games. Since I have some experience doing this stuff I'm super excited (also the money is nice)

I guess it's always great to help a friend.

But don't do it if your only reason is the money.

That's not very good advice when looking for a job. Yeah, it's nice to have a job you enjoy but it's not always as easy as "find something you like".

You're right about that.

Though, a job that you absolutely don't like is not a good choice, even if you get lots of cash.

Installed it, used it for about 15 seconds. Yeah that's exactly what I was thinking of, also even ignoring that feature this is already the best text editor I've ever used. Thanks for recommending it!

Why did you even bring this up when from the outset Insane made it obvious that he was super positive about the job overall? Read. It's a nerd store, of course he's going to enjoy working there.
