Yes.
I also once had an almost-sneeze last for an hour, and let me tell you hwat, that was not a fun night.

Wanna know a cure for hiccups?
Take a spoonful of sugar, let it melt somewhat on your tongue, and swallow. If it doesn't work the first time, try it again.
It always works for me, and I always tell people that. No one believes me until they try it and it works.
A few weeks ago I had something stuck in my nose for three days that hurt and made it feel like I constantly had to sneeze.
That is a terrible sensation to feel, whether for an hour or three days.

Seriously. I am lying in bed, almost 4AM with a fan. Connected to the iPod charger where my phone is usually charged, with a USB cable.

Otherwise, sounds plausible, next time I get hiccups, I'll try that.

It's kinda sad when I have more fun hanging out with my sister and our "adopted" sister than I do hanging out with my own friends.

While I had a night off, I made my own version of a familiar theme to be used in an upcoming collaborative project. It looks like it's not going to get used...

auugh My dad's boyfriend is moving in with us, and honestly I'm just not really happy about it. It's been increasingly obvious that he cares what his boyfriend thinks more than his own daughter.

Anyone else think that going into a place right before it closes is super rude?
My job was dead all day today until an hour before closing, where we suddenly got a huge rush that undid all of the work we did cleaning and stocking the store. I had to stay an extra 40 minutes. =/

Not if there's already a whole lot of other people in there.sedron wrote:Anyone else think that going into a place right before it closes is super rude?

Also you gotta buy what ya gotta buy. Like, yeah I empathize and it does suck when that happens, but that's just it, it just happens sometimes.

I dunno, I still avoid entering stores during roughly the last hour of operation just so I don't contribute.Bwarch wrote:Not if there's already a whole lot of other people in there.sedron wrote:Anyone else think that going into a place right before it closes is super rude?
For reference, I work at a Tropical Smoothie Cafe. For anyone who doesn't know what that is, it's a kind-of-fast food chain in the US that serves mostly smoothies and "tropical," food. People treat it as a fast food source, but realistically the food (and larger orders in general,) take way too much time and labor to fit the bill. Anyway, my job is in an area with a lot of food options, many of which are open for several hours after us. There's no real need to go into TSC fifteen minutes before closing asking for tacos (with each ingredient separated into it's own container so they can be put together at home,) when Taco Bell is right across the street.
I also don't really agree with the "other people," thing. Several people doing something as opposed to one or two shouldn't really affect whether or not it's rude. This makes a weird situation where the first person to come in right before closing is rude, but not the people afterwards. If I'm really in the mood for food from a specific place, I'll make sure I get there a significant amount of time before closing.
Maybe what I'm saying doesn't really apply outside of food business, but that's all I've worked for the past 8 years (side note holy crap I've been working for 8 years,) so it's what I know. It's my opinion and I can totally deal with you disagreeing.

Yeah, showing up a minute before closing is a dickish thing to do.
The employees spend their whole day there and they probably spend the last bit counting down how long it will be until they get to go home. So when someone decides to keep the store open later than necessary so the employees get to sit around waiting for them to leave without being paid it's pretty rude.
