Cal's LP thing (NP: Rayman Origins, PTCG 2, SMWCP)
Re: Let's Have Another Crack at This Thing (NP: SMSR)
There's a v2 coming out? That I knew nothing of! Is there like any actual work going into it just now, or is it one of those dead things that might eventually get done?
I mean, I'm not in any great rush to get it started as I have enough going on at the moment, but I wouldn't want to wait months for something that may not actually happen to happen!

Re: Let's Have Another Crack at This Thing (NP: SMSR)
Here's the thread for it. Nobody's posted there in the last couple weeks which isn't a good sign, but most of the work to be done just requires basic lunar magic skill, so all the project really needs is a spark of activity to get a few people working on it.
I'd expect for the project to be revived before you finish SMSR. If it's not, and you get through Pokemon TCG as well, I'd say go ahead with the ASMT v1 run.

Well then, that I did not know! I'd definitely look forward to doing that if it finishes. I have plenty of other ideas for games to LP in the meantime, so this wouldn't have to be instant after my other stuff finishes.
Anyhow, awesome toy land is go! Even though I made barely any actual reference to SMG and such. Nevermind. The level was fun, but more importantly it was expansive. Something we haven't seen so much! Good challenge too, basically perfect for Course 11 imo.

Your URL tag for the latest video is broken.
Also, the part I don't like most about this is that half the time you can't see your shadow, even when you're standing still. It makes platforming nearly as bad as killing those bees.

Re: Let's Have Another Crack at This Thing (NP: SMSR)
That is largely an emulator issue, it's nothing to do with the game afaik. I don't really know how one would change that in Project 64 1.6 (the last time I tried it fucked with the recording settings and I had to do retakes), but I generally don't find that to be an issue at all in the end. Usually when I mess up platforming it is because of momentum, bad camera angles, or a mix of the two.
Also thanks for the link note, I didn't see that when I put it in before but it's good to know that it was spotted!
Anyhow, lava town is finally go! It's been like all game with almost no lava, such a disappointment in a way. Not really, but lava levels make for excellent end-game challenges and this one is no exception! A couple of very creative concepts here, even if they aren't as visually wow-ing as some older areas. I loved the idea of using metal mario to scale the lava chimney!

Bah, I hate it when that happens! Always missing one thing out and not checking it over again cause I get busy with something else :/
Re: Let's Have Another Crack at This Thing (NP: SMSR)
That's why there's a preview button! Also the site should probably tell you about malformed code, but whatever.
Re: Let's Have Another Crack at This Thing (NP: SMSR)
Aww man look at that dying back on Course 2 again, go figure...
Got it right this time! This turned out shorter than I expected, it was literally twice this length before editing. Huh. Guess a lot of time was spent getting those coins back during the last star.

Oh wow I saw a video before you posted it here. I am completely amazing.
Umm, anyway. I'm actually starting to like these videos more now. Maybe it's because you're starting to sound more like ElectricalBeast, but most likely it's because you seem to know where everything is and that kinda works better for a game like this. And a little because of the ElectricalBeast thing

Hmm hmm... I've heard of this person before, his SM64 LP was reeeeeally wacky, lol. Has he sorta ditched the fan-fiction side of his stuff since then?
I do agree that these things tend to flow better when you know what is coming from it though. But at the same time I kinda like first reaction-based stuff too since it's a hack, and... yeah, I dunno where I'm going with that either. From here though it's going to be back to more blindness as the last two courses are unveiled, along with the final Bowser area but those are linear (I hope!) so I don't think THAT being blind is such a bad thing. We'll just have to see how it goes.

Dem Space Toads...
Don't you just love spending all that time trying to do something that looks unfeasible but is the only way that looks remotely possible to do something? Because yeah.

For a while I was all excited about the possibility of intra-level interactions, like in banjo-tooie, but a dude in your youtube comments is saying otherwise, which is a bummer!

Re: Let's Have Another Crack at This Thing (NP: SMSR)
I know right? That would've been super awesome.
Though in a kinda sorta maybe if you aren't too picky sense it still is, just not to the same degree as hoped. Maybe some overambitious person will do something like that in a future hack!
(Thing is, I recorded like 4 parts on the day I recorded this one, since I anticipate being too busy to record until about Wednesday next week. And since I did not know this I make a point of saying "let's try and find that thing" at the end of the last of the 4... looks like an annotation will be needed!)

Giant black balls are painful when they are that fast...
To be honest I always had trouble with that pattern in the original game on Course 12, but here it's made much worse by the fact that being hit by one almost assures you fall off the Star Road, meaning 6 units of damage.

Victory! Even though we still aren't done yet.
Man this game is really good. Like, REALLY good. Definitely glad I started this. Though we still have more to do, of course. But I figured I'd put my general thoughts on the game in the video description because I could.

Hey look at that Koopa is back to being Quick again
Only now we have SUPER MEGA WEIRD plant glitches instead. Well, I don't think that's actually a glitch, fairly sure that is in the design of the plants... for some reason. Somehow.

Re: Let's Have Another Crack at This Thing (NP: SMSR)
That was one hell of a long 100-coin thing...
Not really that happy with this one, since it felt awkward to leave it unedited as I did but at the same time it felt worse to speed it up because there were a few things that could only really be explained through the commentary I had at the time. So yeah, I don't consider this one a particularly good part, but oh well!

Music proves once again to be the biggest challenge to navigate around
Forgot to do this yesterday, since it uploaded as I was in a meeting and I just didn't remember during the evening. Oops!
