Well then, looks like we're returning to old worlds... with a new shell... and barely any more difficulty right now. Really?

Like, I don't want to sound like I'm complaining that it's too easy, but, well... it's too easy! This isn't any harder than the game was at World 2 imo, and we are four worlds on from that now. I know this game WILL get insane soon enough, but right now it just doesn't feel like it at all.

I guess what I'm "complaining" about is the lack of difficulty curve, since we have regressed somewhat significantly in recent times. I'm still waiting for the wall jump abuse that I just KNOW is going to show up...

You might as well switch back to normal rayman now, since the next skin requires twice as many electoons that what you currently have.

I left an interesting comment in the video with the Rock monster Boss (technically the game's 3rd boss)

Actually, now that you mention it, he was in the dark rainy world, right? Where you got the Helicopter Spin iirc? Or was that just before said world... gah, I know so little about Rayman!

Anyhow, these levels are kinda just there at the moment. The bug level was pretty cool when I started actually playing, but even that wasn't as good imo as ones before it. I guess I'm maybe just good at the difficulty types that are being shown? Or is it really just easy and out of place compared to earlier stuff?

Waiting for karma to kick my ass here.

That sentence makes absolutely no sense :?:

-Who are you talking about?
-Tarayzan was in the raining level, and he gave you seeds to plant platforms.
-Betilla gave you Helicopter at the end of Band Land.
-A musician gave you the temporay Super Helicopter near the end of Blue Mountains.

The rock monsters I was talking about were just the regular ones that threw rocks at you. The also appeared in Blue Mountains.y

I just remember this dark mountainesque world which caused my friend a lot of trouble as a kid. Though this WAS 16 years ago, so yeah. Doesn't matter anyhow.

Anyways, this hasn't been updated in a while because Rayman hasn't interested me quite as much lately. Partly because I have to redo a video, but mostly because it just feels THERE at the moment - it isn't living up to its difficulty hype right now, and I'm just slightly disappointed. This, coupled with several breakages of vital equipment, means that I really haven't felt like recording it lately.

So I started a couple of emulator projects, since they are cheaper to produce (both in potential editing time and filesizes. I'm strongly considering taking a NakaTeleeli approach and doing sequential uploads per day for these now, but really it depends on my recording/editing time and will. We'll just have to see how it goes in the end. For now, copypasta'd from my edited OP:


Pokémon Trading Card Game 2: The Invasion of Team Great Rocket!

Overly long title is long! I decided to do this because Rayman is currently in a bit of a... lame spot imho and I can't record much whilst my main screen is kaput. I was always going to do this game, but I just decided that now would be as good a time as any since I recently got a full english translation.

Basic idea: After becoming the Grand Champion Team GR shows up and steals all the cards on the island. Along with many of the inhabitants. Start out fresh (they stole your cards too) and go kick their ass!

Part 1: Predictable start for luck-based games
Part 2: How did Gene of all people be the ONLY one to fend off GR?
Part 3: Seems like the Rock Gym was weak after all... how did Gene win again?
Part 4: That misplay... possibly my worst fail of all time



An Super Mario World Central Production

I know not why I am doing this. I really don't. This is ~3/4 blind - I watched raocow's LP at the time but haven't touched the thing since, never actually playing it through myself. I played the first world before recording just to get back into the swing of things (I don't play hacks often), but everything after 2-1 is as good as blind. Going to attempt to stay tool-less, but I do not have the extreme threshold of you elites out there so if I feel myself becoming too annoyed/I feel cheated by something I feel is unreasonable then I will use tools.

You got to at least see the boss of the jungle world in Rayman. My sister and I died many times to him.

That thing? I died I think 5 times to it, almost all of which were avoidable and/or pattern learning. I didn't really find it to be that hard tbh. But it has been a good while since I did it now, so who knows?

Yeah, playing co-op does have more challenges than I am experiencing, I'm sure. Previous similar titles have taught me that well, haha. I have it recorded again now, 3 deaths to that stage... one being in the ascension, two being to the boss itself because I forgot what he was gonna do when. Not too bad.

Anyhow, Our rival gives us a big scare in TCG2. I don't remember the last time I got such a scare from him haha.

OK, been a while since I updated this, I kinda got lazy on that front over the weekend. Actually I was occupied with other things, but eh, details. Links are in the OP, but I will give them here anyhow.

OK, so like, lots of crap went down and stuff hasn't been updated here. I figured that especially after raocow's Q&A time that this is superfluous now anyway, but I should still update it when I get my internet back (tomorrow it should be up. It better be!).

But I have run into two problems with the platformers I am playing at the moment. One big, one not so. Note that due to not having internet I have recorded several parts in advance, nearly 10 in some cases. I've been THAT bored without the internet, haha. Hopefully someone can help me resolve these issues...

So, let's get down to it (in spoilers of course):

Rayman Origins:
In the level "Don't Mecha Mistake" (or something similar, I don't have reference at the moment), where the hell is the Electoon entrance in the first screen? I have spent about 40 minutes in three recording takes trying to find them and I just can't see anywhere they could be. It's maddening, and I don't want to progress when I can HEAR that they are around.


SMWCP:
That Counterfort level in World 6... the version of the hack I have crashes when I beat Boom Boom on the top path. I took the latest one from SMWC, so I guess it's 1.6, and I use ZSNES 1.51. I had to use a savestate up the top of the main room because I killed the sparky and hot head with a shell, so I stated to shell jump... but I don't think that is the cause, because I did it tooless afterwards on a reloaded game and it still crashed. Is there any reasonable way to fix this?

I haven't watched all of your Production videos yet, but I noticed that you were wondering about some songs that were used in a few of the levels. This is a complete list of all of the songs that were used. At the time, most of them were available on the site's music section, but many of the songs should be gone from there (also known as a "Legacy Removal") by SMWC which is available in a large ZIP file in the Announcements forum after a complete remoderation of the music section.

I think somebody gave me some sort of music list before in the comments and I checked it out, but will probably still end up wondering where songs are from anyhow because I won't be able to keep it all internalised and such xD

@mariofan1000: Now is that the last world or the bonus world for getting all the gem teeth stuff? Cause if it's the latter then... thanks I guess? But if it's the former, the couple of levels I have done so far have been tough but really neat at the same time!

That was the third level in that world. At least I think it was? Maybe I'm counting weirdly or something.

Either way I haven't actually played again yet, cause of other games and having a million videos to go through. I am still not out of my backlog of recordings yet from when I didn't have the internet!

It's what you get for getting all the gem teeth, but it's actually only a level. And, well...it's...painful.

Also man, turns out that other exit in the Counterfort IS required, cause I'm gonna miss a level if I don't get it :(. I did the Sand Castle of Doom level today, and neither exit went to it... man! I'm gonna miss a whole level if I can't get a fix for it :(

If you can't find a way to bypass the crash, you could always use the cheat 7E149301 to beat the level through the normal exit without having to fight the boss.
