Oh hell yes this is annoying. Sometimes after coming back to a raocow video after leaving my laptop for awhile (after closing the screen and reopening it later and getting it out of sleepmode) on the same video, it can actually DISAPPEAR on you. It was there before, when I started the video. I even got to the video that way, but now I have to go back to his channel.

I'm using a Greasemonkey script that works pretty well at fixing some of the things on new layout change. It actually makes it so you don't have to scroll over to the right much, if at all.

I recommend not centering the page if you do use this one since it doesn't format correctly when you're watching a playlist.

Seems like they're trying to completely get rid of those good old usernames. First the real name thing, then they added undecipherable number URLs for channels with old usernames (at least, links to the old channel addresses still work), and now this...

I really wish YouTube recommended me some channels that didn't have thousands upon thousands of subscribers already. I can find these channels on my own, since they're always in the related videos of every video I watch.
How about some people that are just starting? Give them a little boost, maybe?

Yeah, well I never said any of the people in that list were bad (albeit, I don't know who half of them are), but the whole point of the featured videos thing was so people could get popular.

Does anyone else remember back in 2007 or so when SMPfilms was like... The God of YouTube when he got The Mean Kitty Song featured?
That was what featured videos were for -- helping out people that deserve more viewers. Now it's just YouTube shoving their partners in our faces.

Right now I'm using a script that makes youtube.com redirect to the subscription thing and centers everything.

I don't like that background too much, but that's easily changeable.

I think one of my biggest issues with YouTube now is how much they're trying to take away the social aspect of it, most likely so people will move over to Google+.

Like, when you have a message, you have to notice that little number on the left side of the page, and I don't even think it notifies you when you get comments any more. You just have to manually check your inbox for that (I think). And look at the YouTube app for Android/iOS. There's actually NO way to check your inbox or reply to messages. If you want to reply to a message from your phone, you need to go to your web browser, go to the YouTube mobile website, and check your inbox from there. For some reason the app doesn't have an inbox at all, which is stupid.

Correct. At first I thought they'd finally fixed it to where you get notifications for both comments and messages, but as it turns out you only get front page notifications for messages.

I kind of get it for the people that get a million comments a day, but if that's the case they should just have an option to turn notifications on/off for messages and comments.

It's almost disgusting looking at it to see how few options there really is to customize your Youtube, how you receive stuff and how the general site acts for you.

It took me till today to realize if I clicked all of those "got it" popups for the tutorials they'd go away.

I've had that huge box at the top of YouTube saying "welcome to the new YouTube homepage" for like, a few months now and suddenly, GONE.

I click "Got it" and the box still comes back whenever I delete Chrome's history, like a pheonix risen from the ashes. Or maybe something much less majestic. I don't know, it's late.

It also keeps recommending me YouTubers I am already subscribed to and videos I have already watched. Nonsense

YouTube actually did a good thing letting video uploaders send a message to subscribers with their videos. It's good, because now we get one extra message from raocow per video.

That's not at all what I meant.

If raocow comments on a video he posts with a message, the message he posted is replaced by the comment. raocow never commented on the recent video, so the message is still there. I chose one he did comment on to show the problem. I know for a fact he posted a message with that video, and the message is, as far as I know, gone.

90% of the videos I see in the recommended videos anymore are raocow videos. Typically ones from the LP I'm watching, the one I watched before it, or the one that was played at the same time or right after it chronologically. It's a really stupid system Google's got going.
