How does it "break immersion"? Chances are Samus would have a warning system that was audible and annoying so she knows when her suit is about to be breached.

In the Metroid Prime series, you can even see this on her visor. If you get low on health, her suit starts making a warning sound and flashing a message under your health that says "Low Energy". I don't think it breaks immersion at all. Sure, it's a bit annoying, but that's all.

"Breaching her suit?" Is that what they're calling it these days?

Metroid Prime is a lot more immersive anyway, though (not disagreeing with you)

This make a lot more immersive because you are in the suit. Its normal that the suit tell these things.

"WOAH! You can jump!"- Pretty much summarized yesterday's video.

Also, I just bought the original Half-Life Saturday, along with the two expansion packs and Team Fortress Classic. 'Tis pretty sweet.

Wow, just like others have saud, I didn't know you'd be going back. It's nice to see a change of pace from you, raocow, and I see you're starting to enjoy Metroid, I guess?

Don't worry about the boss thing, I'm sure you'll be as funny as ever, and you'll have defeated it, right?

Can't wait to see what happens in tomorrow's video!

Back to Metroid Legacy, huh? Well, so long raocow enjoys himself playing it, I think I can enjoy myself watching it. Good luck!

Oh, and Panic Mode 4 when he realized he'd walked through a boss door was just plain funny.

There are chipmunk days and there are hyper-chipmunk days. This was the latter.

Well done on beating him the normal way though!!!
You had the right idea to use the electricity. All you had to do was not struggle. Let him bring you higher and higher and then his circles become bigger and you can then grapple a conduit.
It is a bit of a cheap way to kill him though. I used it, I remembered it from when I played Super Metroid back in the day...

Can't wait for the continuation!

You deserve a pat on the back!!

Hey, you know what's not going to help him? Telling him how close he was to doing it the easy way after the fact. Especially after being so evasive when it came to actually telling him what the trick itself was. "You can beat Draygon really fast! Here's a clue - electricity! GOOD LUCK!"

Good job, though, raocow. I had a lot of trouble with Draygon when I beat Super Metroid a while back because I just was not ready for him and he took me totally by surprise. I did it the long way, and I'll be honest, I kinda had fun with it. It was intense. Then again, I also wasn't playing for the Internet and thus could take my time to strategize. Either way, important part is that you did it, even if the video was a touch...trainwrecky.

If I recall correctly, though, you shouldn't have to worry about annoying bosses anymore, though. I think Draygon's the worst of them.
Granted, I'd guess it's personal opinion on whether or not you think Ridley is worse or not.

Oh man raocow, wow, the bit where you were angling upwards and he had a hold of you, if that had connected, that would've been the end of the fight, but really well done on beating him the normal way, draygon doesn't have much health he's just super nasty because of his rushes and his hitbox. If you ever play a version of super metroid again i'd suggest giving the "quick-kill" a try because it's kinda funny to see. The reason you had trouble is that as draygon gets higher when holding onto you, he waves around in a circle which gets wider and wider. At the full height of it you can just reach the top electricity pad with your grapple beam.

For future reference pretty much all bosses respond to the charge beam, just not normal shots. It probably didn't look like draygon did though because of his squiffy hitbox. The best way to hit him is to stand under him and angle upwards i think...I can't remember it's been a long time since i last fought him.

EDIT: Turns out i'm wrong, my sources tell me he swings wide enough for you to hit the electricity before he first hits you with his tail, just got to be as close as possible with him still picking you up, and facing the right direction.

Draygon is the worse of the two, because Ridley can be shot anywhere.

Especially since it's not a freaking spoiler. It's like saying HEY raocow DON'T YOU WISH YOUR MISSILES WERE SUPER?
Yeah news flash you get the super missile. Spoiler alert.
Spoiling things like endings, secret paths, or items is alright. Spoiling one of the INTENDED ways to beat a boss because it doesn't result in nine minutes of annoyance is not helping him enjoy the hack any more, I'm sure.

True, but outright telling him wouldn't be sporting at all. And even with that vague hint he still nearly figured it out on his own. I know that if I were playing it for the first time, I would never have known about that. I was outright TOLD it.

And yes, Draygon is the hardest because of the hitbox and such. I've developed fighting strategies for fighting her over time simply because some hacks actually prevent you from using the quick kill method by blocking off the grates, preventing you from destroying them (also means they shoot at you the whole time grr). I won't go into them though because it'd take too long to explain and what works for some doesn't work for all.

I think you missed the point.

I guess you're right. By the time we were even telling him stuff he had already recorded the video, but I think we were under the impression that he had failed at beating Draygon. That's the way I took it when I offered my advice.

Me too. Although I didn't really add anything since flameofdoubt and firephoenix had given hints.
raocow usually doesn't want spoilers anyway. So telling him about ways he could have done things after he has done them is just for the sake of knowing that there is more than one way of doing something.

Like for example the LoZ OoT Bongo Bongo tricks. I never knew about them when I played through but I am interested to hear about them.

Congrats on this huge accomplishment.
And I'm sure you can figure out where to go by either looking at the map or picking up some stuff on the forum or youtube somewhere.

Wow! Congratulations on learning to Wall Jump. Tito and I still can't manage to do that in Super Metroid!

Also, I'm not quite sure where else you have to go, but, I have a speculating in the spoiler below.
What you're looking for is the Plasma Beam I believe. I have no clue where to find it in Legacy, but in the original Super Metroid, it was found, gaurded by a bunch of Space Pirates that could only be destroyed by it.
Hope I helped, and can't wait for tomorrow's video!
