for he's a jolly good... bot?!?

Post by Diortem »

I dunno, but the enlisted birthdays at the bottom of the forum look really silly today. I never even heard of those 'people'. Happy birthday "Frudonindzya" if that is even decently pronounceable. XD

But seriously, what's going on here? Is the forum flooded with bots these days? Or can't the bots that have been banned be removed from the forum entirely?

Yeah even when they are permabanned, their birthday still shows up and there a like a million bots. Someone should go through the ban list and delete all the spambots.

Why isn't there a verification question? And if it was raocow/talkhaus specific, bots wouldn't know how to answer it, and couldn't register.

Thank you. I feel like I've reported over 100 of those spam posts this summer, and with all the late nights I've been on here at times, that might not be so far off.

I'm not sure how many I got, but it was enough that Argu told me I didn't have to report every spambot post - one per bot is enough.

True story, I never read any spambot report, I just saw they were reported and spambots then did my thing (except that time that every post in a thread was reported)

This post has the only purpose to advertise for a website or another product.

Does anybody actually pick to be notified if something happens with their reports cause usually I either just close them first or delete the post (which in turn deletes the report)

Well, it's set to "Yes" by default, so I'm sure I've done that a few times by mistake. Still, that answers the question on the very last one I did where I asked if you even read any additional info when I put that down in the box.

Spambots are pretty easy to catch. Just look for the new person with a weird name.

I don't change it off of yes. I wrote short messages to you guys (the mods/admin/rao), but I never got a reply.

Although that works 95% of the time, it is more accurate if it is also their birthday and they have a non-location as their location (such as "fisting girls").
