Any Britfriend/NE Corry watchers?

Post by benzeenie »

Firstly- I'm forced to watch it.

Now I've said that; when Steve and bitchy ex took their daughter to Blackpool in last night's ep- what was the music from the game the daughter was playing? 99% certain it was a Gameboy game- Maaaaaybey GBA. She was pressing pause a lot)

It's driving me mad as it's a game I used to play a lot and the music's playing in my head as we speak.

Cheers!

Sorry, I don't understand Northern.
I think maybe you're talking about Coronation Street?
In which case, sorry, I don't watch TV.

I think there are like two other British people who use this forum. maybe they can help?

I'm near enough as North West as you can get while still being in England. However, I don't watch much television. Emmerdale's superior anyway, and if I was going to watch a soap regularly, it would be Emmerdale.

This is now the British TV thread.
ok so.
Everyone should watch Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle.
A new series has started the other day and you can watch the last episode on iplayer.
it's basically just standup so it's cool if you haven't seen the other ones.

k bye.

I last watched Coronation Street when Reg was getting married. Does this help?

Re: Stewart Lee; if you are not aware of Fist of Fun, or Richard Herring's standup routines (Christ on a Bike etc) you should do yourself a favour. But where do I watch this new thing, rubberfishy?

If you have a British IP you can watch the first episode of the new series here:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0 ... 2_Charity/

else... I dunno. sorry.

But I do know you can easily watch all of the first series (minus one half of a video...) on youtube (I did that other day in fact).

Also I haven't watched any of the older stuff that Stuart Lee has done or the stuff with Richard Herring yet.
Honestly I only really started watching Stuart Lee's stuff the other day. But I will spend the next few days however looking thought more stuff. (or looking for a job, one of the other).

But anyway. I like the format that the new series seems to have taken. it's seems so far to be less sketch heavy and instead it intersects Armando Iannucci interviews (much like the red button extras for the first series, the first 4 of which can also be found on youtube)

Armando Iannucci is a pretty cool guy. I loved "The Armando Iannucci Shows". but unfortunately for me most of his other stuff seems to be political satire which I'm not really a huge fan off...

yep.

Might have a look at Stewart Lee when I have nowt else to do. I've heard that this series is apparently better than the last one, but I didn't watch that either.

In other news, I've watched more of the haunted fishtank today than I usually do in a week. Leeds v QPR in football, and Rhinos v Crusaders in Rugby League (the superior of the Rugby codes).

Cool Armando Iannucci stuff

The Thick of It
, essentially a comedy of manners with a political setting (just like Yes, Minister)

Time Trumpet, mockumentary satirising those talking-head nostalgia things that were all the rage (watch out for Stewart Lee and Richard Ayoade as pundits), also Tesco's invasion of Denmark

Also, Alan Partridge

I don't know why you're saying "Thanks", no one can help you. there are no more British people on this forum (pretty much).

Because I was brought up with good manners- and although I didn't get an answer, I'm thankfull for the replies. I guess I'm used to asking questions in places this in places like 4chan where several snippets of advice would involve me killing myself or mutilating old ladies.

My last 'propper' forum that I've been with for about ten years has gone slowly downhill over the past year or so, so am going there less and less- I only fairly recently found rowcow on YT, found he had a forum, found that it was quite small and friendly and delt a lot with one of my favorite passtimes- (SMW hacks)
