Let's get raocow on Nicovideo!

I'm seriously considering translating one of his videos and subbing it for the nico audience. Kil brought up the idea a while ago, and it sounds pretty fun. raocow is gonna be a pain to try to translate though, so I'm recruiting a team of my Japanese friends to help me and I only want to do one. We'd better make it good!

After asking on the irc, we came up with these suggestions. So vote if any of these sound good, or suggest your own if you have a better idea. Not saying I'll go with the vote 100%, but hey, it'll help me get good ideas.

VIP1 - 1-1 Reconstructed & Use of a Switch
Basically what everyone thinks when they think raocow.
Vip4-34 pure savestateless is dead
Probably a bad idea, but a few people mentioned it on the irc.
Super Marisa World - 35 - laundry poultry
Probably his best lp, and this video is very raocow.

It's amazing.
ASMT - 36 - nightmare fuel
Had to have at least one thing from asmt in the poll.
MariAri - raocow's procastination adventures!
My personal favorite lp.
SMWCP - 36 - them kids with their newfangled zelmas and ponkey kongs...
Why not.

I doubt it'll receive many views, but it'll be a fun project regardless.

Maybe your idea would have some kind of audience, because SDM's pyua told me raocow made good videos, and I don't think he knew much English. But who the hell knows; you're amusing yourself, so just do it for that reason. Don't use a video with tool use because they would hate that probably.

I like that one time when some Japanese guy commented on one of raocow's videos and it turned out in the translation he called raocow a "noisy samurai".

Hmm, that's a tough decision.
Of course, it'd have to be a japanese hack, so ASMT and ASMWCP are pretty much out of question. Just as naturally, the video should be funny and random. We have a few candidates for that, but in the end, I think the Super Marisa World one displays "whacky" raocow the best.
However, it'd be nice to have a video translated that also marks the beginning of a new LP, since people tend to not start watching LPs at - for example - the 36th video, but rather the first one of a series.
That said, if there was any video that would be:

- The first of an LP
- of a japanese game/hack
- with raocow being totally random in it.

I'd vote for that. As it is now, however, I'm going with the Super Marisa World one, if just because of the sheer randomness.

This is the only part I agree with. As much as I hate to admit it, I think ASMT would have some novelty to it (maybe skip the boring texty intro video) as it's more likely to be something a Japanese website hasn't seen already as opposed to, say, a Japanese hack. I like to think part of the appeal of Japanese hacks here is that there's a foreign element to it, and I think it could work both ways?

No because Japanese hacks are cool but, imo, most of our hacks are boring. But I do like asmt and I think one of those could work but not nightmare fuel. I think something from world 4 would be cool.
Edit: nevermind that. Except for the asmt part. I changed my mind.

Honestly, I think you should start with an actual Japanese game. Therefor, Super Yeaahh is best.

Everything up there is a Japanese game, except for ASMT (and smwcp, but that's not really something I'm seriously considering anyway).

But no interest in Mariari? Just watched the first few episodes of that again. I can see it fitting in pretty well on nicodouga. Thinking about how the translation would go, the Japanese would fit pretty smoothly. Maybe not the first episode though. The Cirno fight is good, but so are pretty much all the boss fights. Patchy fight number one was probably the peak of the series.

Not gonna do catplanet. There are a few catplanet videos on nico already anyway. I actually think they're the only raocow videos on the site.

Well, there's two paths you can choose Cup:

The Touhou path will set that raocow enjoys Touhou and that his videos will be mainly Touhou related. Straying off this path may make a lot of his followers stop following him because there's a lot of just plain hardcore Touhou lovers.

The Romhack path which most Japanese know as well and could also follow along with. This would set raocow up as mostly a Romhack player, which is what he's known mostly for on Youtube. Straying off this path is not too risky, there are a wide variety of people who enjoy romhacks as well as other stuff.
However, Japanese are very "neat" in that they like things separate, I guess.

I say go with a Romhack of his, preferably a VIP or something well well known.
