I'm not sure how I feel about the creative mode. I think it's too easy to break blocks and you may end up breaking something you didn't want to break. It should make building easier though.
Edit: There are still a few chunk errors near spawn. I haven't looked all over, but that is the biggest area I've seen so far. Best way to tell is track sloping on air (not possible to make happen normally) and powered rails being powered with no power source. It may also affect someone's house/project. I followed a track that just leads to a hole in seemingly a part of some building.
Yes, there are four in the area around spawn. Creative mode is awesome and you won't break someone else's work, because you shouldn't be mining around someone else's stuff anyway
EDIT: Don't try to place anything on a chunk error, you'll D/C. I'm downloading the map to fix it at the moment, so hold on
I'd be kinda close to some work while hooking up the junctions. If I break something, I'll fix it though. I can only think of one intersection with someone's house right beside it anyway (Near the Doctor Who church)
I totally forgot that came out today. I doubt there were many changes other than a few bug fixes, especially for those that kept updating with pre-releases. There were a few changes, but nothing seriously major.
Well, the only thing I'd be doing is fixing some rails. Aposke is always busy when I ask him and I don't want to fix a rail that's meant to be broken for looks.
(I know this really isn't anything about the server, but it's about Minecraft, so...)
I really hate the new sound effect they made for when you take fall damage. It sounds like your legs breaking. XP
I think that sound is the general getting hurt sound, not just fall damage, but I haven't really played MC much since the new sounds. I kinda like the new sound. It's their way of making a non-gender pain sound. Plus it's also a non-human pain sound for people who play as creepers/pigmen/zombies/etc.
^^^^
Yeah. I always thought it was stupid when a girl is playing and they take damage. The manly grunt just doesn't sound right.
Edit: I'm watching live coverage of Minecon right now, and someone asked during the Q&A if there would be a male or female option implemented, and Jeb said that there most likely will be at some point.
Or you could just update using the latest Crow build for 1.0.1 which is supposed to be relatively stable (or you wait another week for 4.2.11). Crow worked fine the last time too, didn't it?
I'm fine with either choice, really. I don't think there's much more tracks for me to do. I think a TF2 server might be fun. I haven't played TF2 much though, so I'm not very good.
Dah nah nah nah! It took me 7 fucking hours, but I got the server onto Bukkit and 1.0
If you want to play survival now, go ahead, I have mobs on for now. Switch with "/mode creative" and "/mode survival" (By the way, creepers don't destroy blocks, but they still damage you.)
The server is no longer on a whitelist, because I installed logblock and have regular backups.
Wow, thanks alot BTYM!
If there was a Talkhaus Mosts 2011 I'd definitely vote for you as server admin of the year.
Not only is the server on 1.0 now but some parts of the map that have been affected by the rollback have returned also (did you manually add them to the map?).
Now all we have to worry about are those two giant block errors around the spawn. It'd be great if you could just replace those with a flat grass surface in the Map Editor since everytime anyone tries to repair those they get kicked from the server.
I saw that someone managed to fix the crashing by copying a MCEdit shematic of the world file and pasting it in a new world. When I get home from school, I'll take the server down for an hour and fix that.
Server is back up, there should be less lag now. Same domain (talkha.us), the IP is 108.59.251.173 if you feel like using that to connect. UnrealIRCd is being a jerk, but other than that everything went pretty smoothly.
I acquired all the ender eyes necessary for the end. I was thinking it would be nice to get together all interested parties to take down the dragon. I was thinking next sunday, the 22nd, at 3 pm Universal time.
