Also today's choice of title amused me.

Yup, looking forward to trying the different character mode. I'm hopeful raocow isn't spoiled on its existence. I doubt he will play it but he'll likely enjoy the surprise of its unlocking.
I also checked out the sequel briefly. Long enough to see they ramped up the Wow Seriously factor.

Re: [Rosenkreuzstilette] „Der Himmel ist ein sehr Himmelsplatz gefährlich.“
Grollschwert - Grudge Sword
Uncharged: Shoots a short-range, but tall sword wave with a curious property. It initially does 1 line of damage, but for every line of HP Tia is missing, its damage increases by 1. (Damage is halved, and rounded down as is standard for all megaman bosses.)
In addition, when Tia's health is critical, she shoots a spread of three sword waves instead, further maximizing the destructive potential of this weapon.
This is without a contest, the most efficient damage to weapon energy weapon in all megaman games or fangames. At very low amounts of health, it only takes 2-3 Grollschwert slashes to defeat any boss, as long as they are not immune.
Charged: Tia will cause a slicing effect that spans the whole length of the screen, centered on her vertical position on the map. This one does a fixed amount of (alright) damage and is not affected by Tia's physical state.
Silberflügel Eins - Silverwing 1
Uncharged: Summons a winged platform that rises upward slowly. Tia can step on them before they disappear. Each platform made uses weapon energy.
Charged: This weapon has no charged version.
Re: [Rosenkreuzstilette] „Gruselig wie Bananen!“
But as it is they basically haven't explained or shown the negatives of their living situation in the empire in a tangible way so you're just kinda left not having a reason to sympathize

RKS-006: Grolla Seyfarth (/GROHL-la say-FAHRT/)
A strong, serious Magus who is the latest of her lineage to wield the legendary blade, the Demon Sword Grollschwert (/GROHL-shvert/). She reports directly to her superior Sichte Meister, but has high expectations for her other friends. Those who wrong her or the RKS are in her view no better than dogs, and she won't hesitate to destroy them. Finally, she is not one for casual talk, addressing even her friends with their full names.
"Traitorous dog! Your life ends here!"
GOOD POINT: Devoted
BAD POINT: Stringent
LIKES: Being a bodyguard
DISLIKES: Sharing her thoughts
Trivia:
- Her family name comes from Andreas Seyfarth, creator of the board game Puerto Rico among others.
- She and Sichte are one of the two pairs of bosses that are linked together in terms of dialogue--defeat one first, and the other will have dialogue expressing a greater determination to defeat Tia. It just so happens that raocow will face off against the other pair over the next two days.

Re: [Rosenkreuzstilette] „Gruselig wie Bananen!“
there will be plenty of that in Grolla's revenge next game!
As was very guessable, Schwer's Game Over screen is a reference to Space Invaders. Today's is another culturally important game! My sympathies to Voltgloss that we didn't get to see this one in the video.

Re: [Rosenkreuzstilette] „Gruselig wie Bananen!“
Grollschwert is the weapon I probably used the least when I initially played. I try to keep my health high and I was more focused on survival when my health was lower. It's not very useful when you have a lot of health, although I noticed that it tends to break through enemy defenses a lot. I sometimes used the slash to hit things slightly below me when I didn't want to waste energy for another weapon.
However, if you happen to be playing
Sterblich (one-hit death) mode
, Grollschwert does wonders. You're always at 1 hit point and you never get anything that heals you, which keeps Grollschwert at its maximum strength. You unlock the code for this mode when you clear the sequel with Pamela, although the code works for both games.
It actually increases range after you lose some health, and then it turns into three slashes upon desperation mode.Chirei wrote: ↑4 years ago

Not necessarily. I experimented with it inThis is without a contest, the most efficient damage to weapon energy weapon in all megaman games or fangames. At very low amounts of health, it only takes 2-3 Grollschwert slashes to defeat any boss, as long as they are not immune.
Sterblich
and it did decent damage against most of the 8 RKS members, but not huge amounts, except forSichte
, who lost like 2/3 immediately since it's her weakness.- Ashan

Re: [Rosenkreuzstilette] „Der Himmel ist ein sehr Himmelsplatz gefährlich.“
Code Name
Sluggish
Jesus
Klageharnisch -
Sorrow's Harness
Uncharged: Fires an upward spread of three whirlpools that are very good for attacking airborne targets.
Charged: Tia will summon a great column of water to rise up around her and do massive damage to anything near and/or above her. Very similar to the charged Storm Tornado from X1.
Lilli
Uncharged: Acts like Beat from MM5. Does very large damage to enemies and ignores their defenses.
Charged: Lilli may not be charged, as she is already being boosted by the Forest Treasure.

Re: [Rosenkreuzstilette] „Voller Trauer...“
RKS-004: Trauare Wrede (/TROW-ah-re VRAY-deh/)
A Magus whose composure hides an inner streak of childishness. She tends to have a disinterested look when people ask her to do certain things. Additionally, she can be prone to bouts of resignment to whatever misfortune befalls her society. Wields the Chaos Spear, Leviathan, alongside her water-controlling power, the Klageharnisch (/klah-ge-HAHR-nish/), and has certain other abilities similar to those of Freudia, though not the same extent.
"Maybe a jellyfish can put up a better fight?"
GOOD POINT: Practically amphibious
BAD POINT: Vindictive
LIKES: Swimming in the ravine with her best friend Zorne
DISLIKES: People who make her angry
Trivia:
- Her last name comes from Klaus-Jürgen Wrede of Carcassone fame.
- Also, a bit of humor as far as the Magi's namesakes are concerned: In real life, Wrede is a big fan of Uwe Rosenberg and Klaus Teuber. This translated to in-game events as Trauare giving both Luste and Spiritia those "outfits" as gifts--the younger recipient never figured out that she got pranked, much to Trau's humor and Tia's distress. Hence, as I said earlier, she's to blame for Luste looking like she does this game.
Lilli
A fairy who once resided in the Black Forest before Freu burned it down as part of the rebellion. Like most people of her kind, she is as tall as the average human's hand. However, unlike and much to the concern of her kind, she has a curiosity of the outside world and a fondness of humans. This leads to her having only a few friends, with Spiritia being one of them. Upon obtaining the Treasure of the Black Forest, she aids Spiritia in battle in a fashion similar to Beat from Mega Man 5, 6, and IV.
"I got it, Tia! Leave it to me!"
GOOD POINT: Able to talk with animals
BAD POINT: Gets jealous easily
LIKES: Spiritia
DISLIKES: Iris
Trivia:
- Her namesake is the Lilliputians from the first book of Gulliver's Travels.
- Her seiyuu also voices Schwer-Muta, though if Schwesternschaft were to ever be released the same would not apply for the English VAs.

Re: [Rosenkreuzstilette] „Voller Trauer...“
It went a lot smoother once you got the charge shot timing down. I forgot earlier this is one of the games where charge shots are only 2x damage vs. bosses but it's still very strong if timed well.

Re: [Rosenkreuzstilette] „Voller Trauer...“
This is especially relevant when using the weapon that's her weakness.
