One year of running
One year of running
Fuck my birthday, I've been putting in some hard work since October 25, 2015. Started out doing nine days in a row (to build the habit) and then five days on two days off until a month ago. I switched to every other day because my shin pain had gotten so bad, I faceplanted on some active railroad tracks. Since the switch, my stamina has gone way down, but my average times have gone back to where they should be. I'm also not in nearly as much pain, which is a plus. The worst part about it is I have no clothes anymore. Running really rips them to shreds, for some reason. So hows about I get some waifus for the waifulord and omedetous for the omedetou throne?

Re: One year of running
Good job. I also finally got myself into an exercising routine as well over the past several months.
Back at the beginning of this year my parents decided to buy an elliptical machine (the kind that has resistance settings and tracks calories burned). It was set up and promptly sat in our living room collecting dust for the first month or so. In March I decided to finally put the thing to use, and got into a routine of doing a 15-minute run on it a day. At the beginning I would range from 200 to 220 calories in 15 minutes (~14 calories/minute). I also started using MyFitnessPal and tracking my calories. Not necessarily to starve myself or anything, but to make myself think twice before eating something since I have a habit of snacking out of boredom. I recently hit a 200 day streak of tracking every day (albeit I've definitely missed stuff just from forgetting, but that's not really the goal). And also I've managed to get my 15-minute cardio in almost every day since I started (I've probably missed no more than 5 days over the ~7 months of doing it). Now I tend to get no less than 250 calories in that 15 minutes (~16.6 calories/minute) though if I prep myself properly by eating a good meal ahead of time for some energy, I'll get around 270. A few weeks ago I managed to break the 300 barrier, and got a personal best of 304 (~20.3 calories/minute).
Here's a comparison of me in March vs today. I think my face has gotten a lot less round, and I find my skin is also less prone to breakouts. Obviously before might also look a bit fatter from differences in haircut or angle or something but it's the best picture I have from the time.

You want a waifu? You get the best waifu, according to what you said on the pro-wrestling thread.

Been biking for a few months now. Well, exercise biking. Had some back surgery around March this year, and one of the post-surgery exercises is roughly 20-25 minutes on the bike daily. Basically need it since due to the nature of ankylosing spondylitis I gotta keep myself healthy otherwise it's gonna be a little extra uncomfortable decades from now. Turning into a sweaty mess after biking sucks, but I gotta say I've been feeling somewhat better from the exercise.

I personally prefer her work in the nippon.

I like the part where she kokuhaku'd all over Arisa Nakajima's face.

For most part, my preference is on her current NXT run, but that's for most part rather biased since I didn't watch her matches in Japan until her NXT debut. That said, her run in Japan is nice as well.
Unless RAW improves in presentation (since the most of the show just feels like a mess most of the time) I'd really prefer it if she would make her debut in Smackdown.

Eh, I'm kind of mixed. On the one hand, I wish her all the success in the world, and she definitely deserves to be a household name. On the other hand, Vince McMahon once asked Jim Ross why he hired Gail Kim because McMahon couldn't understand how anyone would find an Asian woman attractive. Jim Ross proceeded to justify hiring Gail Kim, one of the best female workers in America at the time, by pointing out that there are websites that cater specifically to men who fetishize Asian women. In other words, he's the exact kind of person I wouldn't want in charge of the career of an Asian woman (or any woman, for that matter).aka Cthulhu wrote:For most part, my preference is on her current NXT run, but that's for most part rather biased since I didn't watch her matches in Japan until her NXT debut. Fair point. Still, I remain rather optimistic on how women's wrestling will continue to develop in the WWE, since recently for most part women's wrestling in the WWE now is quite far from the bra-and-panties match, Playboy cover era almost a decade ago. It really sucked. Like, seriously, I can barely remember a good women's match from 8 years ago, which was a time when I watched all WWE programming weekly.Truhan wrote:Eh, I'm kind of mixed. It seems that just a while ago women's wrestling segments on WWE was synonymous with "piss breaks". Now people are actually talking and looking forward to it, once again more Smackdown and NXT than RAW, and that one is mostly due to the poor presentation of RAW overall.
Still, as RAW is generally seen as more hands-on work from Vince McMahon, it is certainly worrisome on how it would affect Asuka's main roster debut (and any other wrestler, male or female, really).

Yes it's not actually an exercise thread? Or yes a reference went over my head? Or yes to both?
Cause I poured my heart and soul into my post for nothing then!

It can be an exercise thread. I just want to share my progress. One year is a big milestone.Ashan wrote:Yes it's not actually an exercise thread? Or yes a reference went over my head? Or yes to both?

Please don't call me names. Forrest Gump never found the perfection that is waifuism. As a great person once said:Ivy wrote:the op is actually forrest gump.

In fairness, I did also mention a bit of exercise as well.Ashan wrote:Yes it's not actually an exercise thread? Or yes a reference went over my head? Or yes to both?

On that note, I gotta do a fair bit of stretching daily. My legs are still in rather poor shape, so that's one reason why I stick to an exercise bike instead of going outdoors and running or walking. Running is generally out of the question, since my back is starting to get rigid. Can't be avoided. The metal screws on my back just keeps my back straight, since otherwise it'll be curved and it's gonna get permanent due to the ankylosaurus problem. Bamboo spine, as they called it.
So, exercise bike, and a number of stretching. Gotta watch my weight, since more will put more stress on my joints, and I got a thin frame so gotta be careful. Not that heavy though; heaviest I ever been is 150 lbs a year or so back, and right not it's around 130.

Re: One year of running
Back in the day I used to run a lot, I was training to run a 10k. At my greatest, I could run a 10k in about an hour and six minutes, I remember posting about it back in the twitter thread so someone might be able to pull up the exact details.
As of this school year, I just work out. I don't really have very high limits, most of them being at 100lbs or less, but somehow I managed to lose thirty pounds this way, in combination with some other things. (total abstinence from candy and soda for one, and almost complete abstinence from savory junk food, milk, and gluten) Hopefully it'll be a good opportunity to gain some of that weight back as muscle.
