Hello, fellow talkhauser! o/
I am everyone's favourite uncle, Putte, and I run a fun ol' game over at IRC and rolz.org for a bunch of my friends. A game, or rather, a pen and paper role-playing game, called Call of Cthulhu, in a scenario of my own making, "the Curse of the Dogman"!
I just came up with the name right now, though, so it may change along the way.
Regardless, are you fond of RPG's? Have you watched/listened to your favourite LP'ers as they record their encounters with what Man Was Not Meant To Know on the youtubes? Do you like the theme of the 1920's, investigating crimes, wearing fedoras while looking natural, and solving mysteries from beyond the stars? Do you enjoy the old-timey scary radio plays of yore, the little pre-comic book booklets of scary and occasionally stupid content read furtively under bed-covers, with a flashlight, fearing half the story unfolding and half being found out by a parent? Do you enjoy the atmosphere of gratuituous spookiness, of moonlit foggy moors and decrepit old graveyards, of gusts of wind from old moss-covered tombs that just, just barely, sound like they whisper your name? The long-abandoned mansions, the secrets they hold within, and the blinding black horrors that stalk just outside the window, scraping the glass just like so as you close your eyes to will it all away and sleep... in short, do you like Cthulhu stories?
Well, we have openings, yes we do! Our current campaign has lasted for a good 8 (?) months, spawning a rough 21 sessions of the main campaign and 5-ish sessions of a brief side story. I am currently looking for a balance of roughly 6 players total, of which we have 3 originals - Fluffi, Mikkofier and Handsy. Don't be shy, give the lads a holler. Also, the one thing I would adamantly request of you is that you have the timeslot we normally play at open - 16:00 GMT, on every Sunday.
Do post if you feel even a slight pique. Introducing new players and investigators is a cinch, I'll say, even in a game so far-proceeded. You needn't even read the long logs unless you absolutely wish to, as it is not expected for new characters to even know all that nonsense. If you feel shy of playing because you haven't played CoC or RPG's before, perish the thought. You can learn as we go just fine. And do not feel intimidated by the high likelihood of character death - this is Call of Cthulhu, afterall! Miraculously, we have yet to see a player character die in our campaign, with only one character retiring due to critical injuries and temporary insanity! So, with that said, think of it as this way - it's better to try and die, than not try at all, and not have fun!
(Disclaimer: Please do not apply this logic to real life.)
That aside, please join us in our adventures!

Um, um. The raring popularity success of this thread has led me to think of something.
In case you feel curious but unsure of what and how to, in regard to the game, you can feel free to stop by tomorrow! We play at 16:00 GMT on Sundays, and we gather in IRC. Namely, at irc.cat.bio, #talkhausofcthulhu. Hopefully.
Please stop by to observe if you're curious!

This sounds fascinating, though just about all of my knowledge of Call of Cthulhu comes from the Old Man Henderson story (which is actually in Trail of Cthulhu, but it matters not), which is almost certainly not the best impression of the game. Still, I am sort of interested in observing this, even if I don't end up playing it.

You are most welcome, Leeroh! I'll have to warn you, though, that OMH was, ah... well, to be concise, a parody. On the lines of "how to not call of cthulhu". But I consider it meritorious for the interest it has brought to this game of games.
Also, if you'd ever be curious of, say, rolling a character just in case you ever wind up using it, do stop by at the IRC channel! I am usually there in my waking hours, save for those spent potating.
I say this because parsing together a character is actually pretty fun on its own. At least for a game-head like me.
