IndieBox

Post by XerX »

So I was on Youtube the other day and I saw Projared mention something called Indiebox. Intrigued, I watched the video and immediately my eyes lit up. Physical copies of indie games. Amazing. He then unboxed one and I was like "omg I need one".

https://theindiebox.com/

From their about page cause I suck at summarizing.
IndieBox is a subscription service that delivers collector's edition versions of indie games to your
door every month. Each IndieBox contains a high-quality indie game, retro-style box art, USB
game cartridge, color manual, original soundtrack, and much much more...
Right now, they have Axiom Verge as this months game. I really really want it so bad.

I don't even watch ProJared but somehow I saw the same video and I thought it seemed neat. I'm certainly someone who likes having "things" so it interests me... assuming there's a game that they have on there that I want that I don't already have. Taking a quick look at things, it doesn't really seem like it's too worth it if you already own the game which kind of sucks to me, but I guess I'm not the target audience in that case. I'm gonna keep an eye on it. Maybe.
I'm on Twitter and Discord so say hi to me on there cause I like to vanish from here forever repeatedly also I have sigs off so I can make my sig as ugly as I want and it won't bother me this is my sig btw

I have no interest in owning physical copies of games anymore, but this does look super neat.

It's cool, but likely hood is that most of my favorite indie games won't ever show up on this service. Ah well.
Well it is a decent hack but sometime its just too repetitif there no level that actually pop in your face and your like oh yeah that level they all ressemble themselves and just monster along the way.

? I didn't say anything about being a kid though. I mean more like foreign indie games like OFF and stuff.

Interesting. I associate indie games with internet distribution, i.e. after my childhood, which was mostly just pre-internet consoles. Hence the 'oh you kids' reaction.

I was signed up for a few months, I liked their service. It is completed IRL RNG though. You could totally end up with something you don't like. I did pretty well for the most part. My favorite box I got was Guacamelee, even if I had already had it on Steam. But I'm weird like that. If it's your thing, you'll enjoy it but if you prefer things digital, you won't.

Well it's just about the same with any "mystery box" loot subscription. But hey you get a digital copy with the game as well. I think that's grand!
