reminds me more of soldexus than terraria tbh

and yeah I was getting more of a soldexus vibe from hellish heaven, maybe from the music more than anything, but the grasslands seem totally different it's incredible

Vi's sprite seems rather large for that kind of challenge to be repeated - though I'm still unclear on how Vi's hitbox corresponds to her sprite.
it's gonna have to do a lot better at communicating where vi's hitbox is if it's gonna pull that off well. part of the reason touhou and bullet hells work is that you can tell where bullets have to hit you for you to die, which is not communicated very precisely in this game. where does vi get hit? all of her sprite, sans wings/tail? a small box over the center of her body? what counts and doesn't count as her hitbox? we can't tell, so it's a frustrating game of trial and error to try to squeeze in between a dense wave of bullets

personally I think the "HOLY SHIT A WALL OF BULLETS HEADING FAST AND TOWARDS ME BETTER NYOOM INTO THE GAP" bullet dodging, a la Junko, would work better in a game like this

That part wasn't bullet hell though. It was more like a regular shmup where you have a full character hitbox

The dev's estimate is 25-30 hours for a 100% run. The completionist entry there has an average of 27 hours which is right in the middle of the dev's estimate.
Err, I thought he said it was 25-30 to just complete and an extra 10 or so for completionists? :T

and i liked part 3 more than the first two videos, partly because it was new to me and partly because it looked better-designed as a whole, that was a really good boss fight, for one
i've honestly never played a video game in my life

true, true. but if that type of attack comes back but the bullet density increases I predict it'd be more frustrating than it could be, unless there's a feather that lets you see the exact dimensions of your hitbox or something

I'm pretty sure that everyone will now tell raocow what to do. It would have been nice if he figured out the way to go on his own though.

You can stand on top of the waterfall in Stormtown, Rao.

If you look closely, there's a patch of grass there!

Better than spending half a video trying to brute force through that section. :P

ugh im having trouble parsing where you can and cannot go. like i totally thought those were two conveyers that you had to go between but one was just a reflection and you had to go below it but i thought you could go on top of it and

i think id rather play soldexus! this game has cool character design and stuff, but the gameplay's so... i would feel like im missing something all the time basically

Yeah except what you said is false so you're actually doing the best thing to make him waste time I misread & I dumb
Read at your own risk below if you somehow can't figure out what to do tomorrow
The stormcloud path is actually where you're supposed to go. It's recommended to "feint" the thunder by using the flutter next to it as it's the best option you have to stay still. It'll be a recurring pattern in this game where the player usually goes "wtf this is literally impossibel" and it turns out with a bit of practice and/or a different strategy you'll eventually ace that section finger in the nose
@Leet : I'll admit the water reflection was pretty confusing to me too at first, but you quickly get used to it

Quick question, what is different about this game on Hard aside from the reduced checkpoints?

I almost always play on normal in games since hard is usually just giving enemies more health meaning you do the same thing as on normal, just for longer (I also end up massively underleveled 100% of the time meaning normal is just the right amount of challenge, even in stuff like pokemon and tales where people think it's impossible not to overlevel). This game seems like difficulties are a little bit more than just making things take longer.

If you're talking about the waterfall at the right of the village he tried to go over towards the end you 100% cannot go over it

I assumed you were talking about this one because otherwise I don't see what you are referring to?

The bosses and enemies are stronger on hard mode and have more abilities.

There are quite a lot of differences. Enemies have about 50% more health, including bosses, but they also do more damage (the homing red enemies in the first area 3-shot you on hard). Bosses also get additional abilities and some of their other abilities are improved (faster, more projectiles, etc). Some regular obstacles are also changed (pn hard mode, the white cannon thing we saw in today's video has about twice the firerate of its normal mode counterpart)

I could go full-on Sebby19 mode and list differences between normal and hard for enemies and bosses if that interests someone

Well, first time I've been verbed.

I feel honoured.

I often break mechanics and details in videogames down to the smallest details. Soldexus was my first attempt to put that down to print. If Rao ever goes back and play's Ava's side, I would love to finish the guide, and clean up what I already put down.
If anyone has ever heard of that Wario Land 4 Analysis book, that would be me writing that, if I could actually write like a professional.

OH, just stab me in the heart, while you're at it. Ouch. I hope this doesn't become a regular thing.

As for Wings of Vi, I don't really have anything to say, other than the platforming looks really hard, right from the first area.
