Are youtube poops still a thing?

Post by DigitalHero »

In case anyone is uninformed on YTPs (which is probably very few of you, if anyone) they are essentially short videos made by hacking and pasting different images or clips from videos to make an often incoherent mess that is often just stupid (though there are a few that are surprisingly funny and clever.)

But my question is whether people on Youtube (and anybody on Talkhaus especially) still makes YTPs. They appear to be a thing of the past, an outdated fad. Any input?

They might be outdated, but its meme quotes like 'Mah Boi' were still in used apparently. I started watching YTP in 2012, but it's pretty late for me since this fad started around 2007.

Nah, I think there lesser people in YouTube are still making this. Try to search some more MAH BOI!

2004/2005, technically

the first ever poop "I'D SAY HE'S HOT ON OUR TAIL" by SuperYoshi, was actually first posted onto SheezyArt (rip in peaces) in December 22, 2004 under the name of "The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 REMIXED!!!"

basically it was just the end result of SuperYoshi fucking around with the Recycled Koopa episode of the SMB3 cartoon in Windows Movie Maker after having installed Windows XP (he had been using Windows 98 up until then)

it, along with "Sonic and Robotnik's sodomy hour!" (an Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog poop) and "Dr. Light's Guidance System Show" (a Ruby Spears Mega Man poop) were later uploaded to YouTube in 2006, kickstarting the whole trainwreck

YTPs are very, very much still a thing. And the quality standard's been raised buttloads. They're a little harder to find now because most people don't include 'YTP' in the video titles but gosh dang the most of them are beautiful and I love it

searching YTP should get you results, and if you like I can reccomend a few names (Geibuchan is absolute genious)

I don't currently make YTPs but I've always wanted to. Maybe some day.

A lot of good YTPers are still making things today, some of which have decent amounts of viewers.

Also, I'd argue that the GMod video community has somewhat taken a similar role, with somewhat insane content being flung at you from all directions rapidly using premade textures/objects/models.

No no no no, you see, that's a YTPMV, wherein you remix sound samples to a song. It's COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from a ytp.

There is this one YTP series I watched recently. I found it from the tvtropes and it's called I. M. Meen gets a new job. It follows the journey of Meen and Weegee trough the space and time. Lots of different tropes are used in the story, some of which worked better than others. It also has 52 parts, and some of the episodes are over 10 minutes long.

I've seen some other funny YTPs too, but those have been mostly only one video things.

I used to watch a lot of YTP, but unfortunately a lot of poopers like to flash mind-scarring imagery that cannot be unseen or fill it with endless sex jokes, and it's impossible to find new poops without taking that risk. Honestly very unfortunate because I love me a clever corruption of video.

That said, DaThings1 has YTP down to a sos.

The only one I follow is Hurricoaster, and he doesn't really do all that much anymore. I do recognize and enjoy most of the classic poops though.

Oops, yeah.

I mean, there's some recent ones. With a decent amount of views, too, so it's probably not dead.
