Bad Game Night

Hi, you might not know me, but my name is Argumentable and I'm pretty new to this forum

Anyway, I had an idea a while back for "Bad Game Night" where me and whoever else that wants to join will take a journey playing a bunch of games that are not good but still playable and possibly fun. I know it's kind of a fine line between "bad but still fun/funny despite that" and "bad because it's actually bad" so that's why I'm here! If you guys know of any games that might be fun to play or watch or even wanna participate in this lets get some suggestions in or whatever. Preferably they'd be on steam but... they don't have to be!

I remember in IRC there was this dumb flash shooter game we would play - think Soldat but worse and with an awful soundtrack. It was still fun to run around and shoot each other despite the fact that this would not be a game any of us would just play normally.

Here's what I'm looking for:
-Not a good game
-Still fun
-Free or at least very cheap (so nobody wastes anything if they're actual duds)
-Multiplayer friendly
-Action Oriented (not necessary)

Here's what I don't want:
-Actually bad
-Stuff that crashes constantly
-Single player stuff
-MMOs cause that's half of the free/bad games listed

If it was as easy as looking on steam for "Free" and "Negative Reviews" I would do that, but I did and I'm still not sure. I found one or two that looked good, but the either ended up being MMOs or the reviews say multiplayer doesn't work. So yeah, any help?

Ok I have some old games factory garbage that is probably impossible to use online but whatever

Basically I remember these old compilation CDs I had from 2002 or so that were basically one million shitty sharewares or free games they found on the internet or something. I especially remember two multiplayer ones that I used to play with my brother and I just spent 20 minutes looking for them and I'm actually surprised I did find them

I linked friendly-strike 2 which I had no idea existed as I only played the first one, so maybe there's netplay MAYBE???



As a more realistic suggestion there's http://www.extinction.fr/ which are 3 onlinr flash games but the only good one is "Aaah" which is pretty much Transformice's ancestor (it's by the same author), you are a stick figure and has to get to the goal, and one of the players can draw lines to help the others. It's pretty bad but more fun than it sounds I guess?? Also since it's french shit, just type your Username where it says "Pseudo" and hit enter, then click on "Aaah"

That's my amazing contribution (probably don't even try the first 2 I just tried one of them again and it reminded me how impossible it'll be to set it up to use online (probably))

Yeah, I dunno. These seem not too entertaining to watch. I did try Aaah but transformice is probably better in every sense. Especially since I play "dick over everyone and don't actually help"

Gunbound/Maple Story and all that shit is probably a good example. They're fun games but they're not really good, and they're not something I'd enjoy playing all the time. Maybe a little too polished for what it's worth, but that's definitely the right track

Do shooters count? Some of the Call of Duty games would qualify then, especially if they're the PC versions.

Call of Duty games from what I have seen are pretty well polished and actually decent? I mean I know it's cool to rag on them but from what I've seen there's nothing "wrong" with them. Feel free to prove me wrong, but they're like full priced titles so no way they're going on the list

like "Double Action Boogaloo" and "Tactical Intervention", as well as some fun Source games like The Hidden, Trouble in Terrorist Town and Prophunt (but i think you need G-Mod to play the latter games)

I actually wouldn't recommend Fantabulous for this kind of event, given that it's a single player sort of sandbox experience.

While it may be... incredibly sexualized, Mount Your Friends is a really and truly fun game to play. It can be considered a bad game, but it's closer to a joke that's legitimately well made and fun that bad, I'd say. Does that fit the criteria?

Tactical Intervention seems like the perfect game for what I was looking for. Hell, I would say TF2 as well if people didn't still unironically like that. I would say Bloody Trap Land would fit into this as well, it looks awful and not fun but there's a bunch of people trying to do the same shit so it probably works out well in the "fun to watch" department. Too bad it's like $9 more than I'd pay for it

Tactical Intervention is good, though. Free to play so everyone can download it. Maybe we should set that up sometime

Mercenary Kings meets all your criteria, except that it's $20. The core gameplay is pretty fun (if you like metal slug) and the art is amazing, but other than that it's pretty shit.

Tiny Plumbers isn't necessarily bad, but it's pretty weird.

Both are online multiplayer.

Yet Another Zombie Defense is hilariously bad, and while fundimentally it's just kinda boring, everything else in the game is so bad that I can't help but mention it. It's also cheap and it has online multiplayer.

If there's people interested, I thought maybe next Saturday (the 25th) might be a fun time to try and play something like Tactical Intervention. I want to make it not-actually-at-night so europe and america can play together (it can't get any badder). Is that a good day or what? I wanna hear some thoughts from interested participants.

I remember playing Bloody Trapland, and it was surprisingly a lot more fun than you'd expect. I'd still say it was a bad game, but it was a pleasant surprise.
