So Castlevania: CotM came out in 2001 and was heralded as the followup to SotN, generally receiving good reviews as one of the GBA's early must-have titles, despite flaws like being impossible to see unless you were playing under a large array of 500-watt stadium lights. I played it back in the day and struggled intensely with its fairly high difficulty, I being quite the crappy gamer as a kid. Now that time has passed, I've put a bunch of hours into Dark Souls, so maybe I'm better now? I'm craving some Metroidvania action, so I thought I'd give a LP of it a try!
This is the first time I've really tried to do live commentary on a thing, so it'll probably improve over time. I know there're some filler words in there, and that I say "Symphony of the Night" more in this video than in raocow's entire LP of that game to this point, but I'm looking forward to rediscovering this game!

Let's Play Castlevania: Circle of the Moon (badly? Probably)

I just helped walk my brother through this this weekend :) It can get kinda grindy at times but I think it's one of the better Castles in the vanias

Yeah, I'm surprised by how much I like it actually. It's a little bland-looking compared to some of the other games in the series, but the gameplay is really solid.
In today's video, I beat the first boss! I think I exaggerated its difficulty just a bit, but it's still a bit of a shock to be plowing through everything in the game up to this point and then have a boss that can cross a large room in a single leap and fire death lasers.

And here's Episode 3, in which not much happens except some good old fashioned exploration. Next time'll be a lot more eventful, I have a feeling.

How much do you care about spoilers? Like if I were to suggest certain enemies to kill a lot of?
Re: Let's Play Castlevania: Circle of the Moon (badly? Probably)
Oh, I don't care at all! I played through this game years ago and wound up grinding for just about everything, but I don't remember where any of it is and I did look at a map before today's recording, so go nuts! Liking this game more and more as I get further into it.
Speaking of which, episode 4! In which I kill a floating skeleton in a bathrobe and learn how to smash walls with my face.
Episode 4 - Necromancer in Flight - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcgHQXO ... e=youtu.be
And episode 5, which takes us into this game's clock tower equivalent and features playing around with different cards. Yay, fun stuff!
