Need translation
Need translation
Hey, anyone out there good at japanese? I need a translation from a page in the Dragonball manga.
It's the line Krillin speaks (The guy with the 6 dots on his forehead, if you're unaware)
Sometimes it's easier to let go than go on.
Re: Need translation
Will that person see this thread or is it best to PM?

Re: Need translation
That's the thing though... I'm not gonna trust Viz in this instance. My other-language translation say something else.pholtos wrote:I mean... here's the official manga english page of that page if that works...

Re: Need translation
I'm sure there's some reason this very line is so highly contested in the Dragonball community

Re: Need translation
Well does "they're both completely equal in offence and defence" mean that they both have skills in offence and defence that are equal to each others' skills in offence and defence, or that they are both equally skilled in offence as they are in defence, or both? The official English translation went for the first option.

You can trust the official translation on account of its professionally accurate spelling.

Re: Need translation
Well, thanks everybody!
It's not really that highly contested, it was just a mistranslation in my own translated manga that triggered my curiosity. That and one other thing.

Re: Need translation
Interesting. I've just been contesting this one line because of how the fight is shown. They appear to be evenly matched, but it's countered by another statement later on.

Re: Need translation
I haven't read the manga, but from what I remember the anime was pretty inconsistent at times, so that's not surprising.
Re: Need translation
The manga is inconsistent aswell, but the anime takes it to a whole new level, especially during the later parts.Doctor Shemp wrote:I haven't read the manga, but from what I remember the anime was pretty inconsistent at times, so that's not surprising.
