Heh, yeah THUMP is definiately a Thing, but oh well... the ideas are nice at least. You know the saying? Good ideas, poor execution. A few more power-ups might have done wonders.

The first Level in today's Video was very well designed though and not all that difficult. You just Need to stay on your toes.

The music from THUMP was giving me fits because I knew I recognized it but I couldn't remember where.

Turns out it's the battle with Macho Grubba from Thousand Year Door. Neat!

Smouldering stones was a neat idea.

Apparently one of the issues JUMP is having is that a lot of the levels are way too hard. It's definitely odd.

To be fair to JUMP, the project started out with the intent of having the early game be roughly 'mid vip' diffuclty or something, for some reason. It just kind of grew from that. The issue is that at some point someone went 'no wait maybe we should do a good game'.

The first level had a pretty neat concept, even if it was a little tricky. THUMP, however, uh... that was... something. I think that was another example of a level that has an interesting gimmick, but both kind of shoves it in your face without much room to practice without dying as well as overstaying its welcome. The entire final section was completely unneeded, to be honest, and to me it just serves as one last "screw you" to anyone playing savestateless. I don't think the gimmick is an unusable one, definitely. It was just poorly executed in this level.
I do have to admit the Ire treasure was funny, though.
Because Touhou OCs can in fact exist, sounds fake I know.

I can't change my username but I go by Vali/Claire now (aka call me Vali or Claire at your leisure ^^).

I never update this currently playing section anymore, it's probably an RPG or something.

M vs X?

Also all those earthquakes were visually annoying. And what was the context to that ghost guy?

Yeah, I think that was the plan.

This also means that raocow needs to play jesus's/anonymousbl00dlust's level. No exceptions. He worked on that thing for 3-4 years.

Definitely not going to be any problems.

Speaking as a totally not-talkhaus person, this game probably would have benefited from removing lives. Not that it really matters in its half-finished state, I suppose...

@Bwarch:
Oh, that's great news. As someone who tested it fully, I'm looking forward to the 12 hour recording session (minimum) that will result from it.

Almost all games past like 1999 could benefit from having their lives removed, if we're being honest.

It basically did?
I mean. What does gameovering cost you?

Literally only the midpoint. I think that's fair.

My LPing side did not like the thump level.

I love how little I always have to say in these threads.

I think that the concept in Smoldering Stones was pretty cool (was that a reverse pun?) and the one in THUMP (BEST NAME EVER) could have maybe been done a little better. After all, raocow has already died 100 times on the 2nd installment.

It did, though! It started before raocow even picked a game to play. It's just that Unaniem is using the technicality of "in the corresponding LP thread".

I think at this point, the only way to beat the record is to have drama over a game before it's even in development at all.

Ha, shows what you know. This game was causing drama before raocow was even done deciding to play it! :P

Nothing's gonna beat that record (hopefully).

Talkhaus the Visual Novel?

I don't think that got past the drawing board and some dialogue that Aposke wrote.

I'm pretty sure the talkhaus visual novel had that issue.

Okay wow I never realized just how high we were aiming with A2MT. Like, there's a TON of awesome-seeming things in it that I didn't even know were possible (well I guess anything is possible with ASM but still), like the treasure system and changing the level names' colors.

I think all the A2MT-ers deserve a big pat on the back for as far as it got even though it wasn't finished. Like, wow.

I remember playing THUMP. It was just as hard, though I didn't go out of my way to get the coins or treasure.

In THUMP, it looked like raocow was supposed to hit an up-arrow at the end of the P-switch run, which I assume would have eventually led to the "correct" exit. How much more punishmentcontent was there after that up-arrow?

Has anyone else noticed how freaking tinny the sound effects (jumping, coins, etc) are? Is that in the rom, or is it just raocow's videos?
