Re: Ask a Canadian.
Serious Question: I once heard that there are occasions in Canada where you have desert on one side of a road and on the other side there are forests.
:o Is that true?
Are there many forests with bears and lumberjacks and seas? Or is it just an overused stereotype what I guess it is?
Also I heard that Candian women/ girls are exceptionally beautifull. Fun thing a Christian band from Canada once visited us and the female singer was super good looking.
Will raocow claim the Iron Throne?

Lots of bears, not many lumberjacks though
I dunno about the rest of Canada but Quebec's girls are pretty rad

Depends on who your provider is and where you live... like everywhere else I assume?

You mean there are people who don't only eat pancakes and maple syrup? That's fucked up.

Going a step further on this one: I believe that on average Canada is faster than the US, but they face similar problems in that there are only a few major ISP's to choose from in any given area.Clemasterable wrote:Depends on who your provider is and where you live... like everywhere else I assume?

It is pretty awesome. I love the Queen. But I can't wait until we get King William on the thrown (sorry Prince Charles, but you are just too old. Poor luck of the draw for you, that your mother will probably live to be 100).
Seriously though, Canada has been it's own independant nation for quite a few decades now. Yes, Her Majesty is still technically our Head of State, but the Prime Minister (currently Stephen Harper) is the one really running the show. Nowadays, the idea of the Queen is someone who is non-partisan, who wields specific and emergency powers. For example, she is the only one who can sign bills into laws. Ofcourse, being in the UK, her representative, the Governal General, does it for her. As a guideline, every bill is signed into law, unless it's obviously illegal. The Queen can also remove the PM when necessary, like if he goes mad with power. I believe this almost happened in Australia once.
Other than that, becuase Canada is part of the Commonwealth, we get invited to special parties, and take part in the Commonwealth games. Unlike you seperatists.
Can you tell I'm the fan of the Queen? I believe George Bush said "She's like everyone's Grandma"
Back to pancakes and syrup, I actually prefer waffles. The grid holds the syrup better, while with pancakes, it just runs off of them, and onto the plate. And then I get sad :( . It's frustrating trying to scoop up everthing, since it's mostly impossible. Pancakes should be more absorbant, dangit!

Almost! I'm proud to say in Manitoba, we have a legit sand desert tucked away in the corner of the province. My father told me me it used to be much bigger, spreading past the highway we were driving on at the moment, so that statement must have been true at one point. The forest has been been eating away it though, and my dad also told me the provincial park has been burning it so the desert doesn't shrink any more.Slit08 wrote:Serious Question: I once heard that there are occasions in Canada where you have desert on one side of a road and on the other side there are forests.:o Is that true?
But yes, I nice hike through the forest, climb a steep set of stairs, and BAM, desert as far as you can see.
Man, I haven't been there since I was little, I should go back one of these days.

Re: Ask a Canadian.
There's a place near where I once lived where you had a desert and forest behind it and the Saint-Lawrence River on the other side of the road. Was pretty neat looking.

Are any of ye dual-citizenshippies, and if so, what're the benefits and process?
Is that a stupid question?
What be the fashionthings, like scarves? How does one scarf properly?

Re: Ask a Canadian.
1. Dual-citizenship?
2. No stupid questions, only stupid answers
3. Right now, the most fashioned thing seems to be having weird dyed hair and being a hipster. But since it's not hipster to be hipster, the hipsters cannot be hipsters anymore but if they all stop being hipsters then being hipster will be hipster again. Get it? Also leggings and guys having long hair (at least one thing about me is fashionable)

Not one, so I can't answer.Fidget wrote:Are any of ye dual-citizenshippies, and if so, what're the benefits and process?
To be honest, I just go with like a black scarf, for the rares times that I have to wear one. Because I don't like scarfs.Fidget wrote:What be the fashionthings, like scarves? How does one scarf properly?

Re: Ask a Canadian.
I prefer neck warmers. Scarves get complicated if you want them to be fashionable and warm. I just want to be warm.
No real advantage to being a dual citizen, unless you live in both countries.

Isn't Canadian football just another term for soccer?

We call soccer, soccer. Canadian Football is the exact same thing as American Football, expect our fields and balls are bigger.
