Rarity's is kind of weird, but I liked the other two. Rarity usually has some of my favorite songs in the series, but I'm not feeling this one for some reason. I like Sunset's best. I never would've expected to like her so much after the first movie, but she was the best part of Rainbow Rocks.

Twilight Sparkle plans to hit us in the feels with the new episode next week, and Meghan McCarthy has revealed who wrote it over on Twitter. The first time Friendship is Magic writers Joanna Lewis and Kristine Songco will be showing off their style for us. Both have worked on previous cartoons, including Fairly Odd Parents and The Mighty B.

Castle Sweet Castle next week looks to be interesting, it's always fun to see if you can tell a writer's style from the episode and see if anything noticeably changes. I never really can myself but I try every now and then :v

Spoilery comments in no particular order!

so i had a class last year and we had a guest speaker that talked about her experience in what was essentially a cult, and a lot of the things she described were here.
paradise mentality, the "leader secretly has more freedoms than the rest" thing, minimal housing, the "everyone polices everyone else" bit, and the fact that the accepted newcomer must reside with the leader for a while were all there. so this episode creeped me out a fair bit thanks to that.

Also, Starlight Shimmer may not be my favorite villain but she certainly brought herself up in the ranks when she interrupted Twilight's "this is why Friendship Is Magic" speech. I look forward to her return.

By the way, anybody else catch the incredibly evil-looking set of volcanoes topped with a massive, one-eyed skull in one of the first shots of the Equestria Map? Because I have a feeling we're going to hear about it again.

Starlight is without a doubt the creepiest villain in this show so far. Regardless of her threat level being relatively low, the fact that she came so close to something like a real life cult makes her pretty terrifying.

Fluttershy was great, too. I felt like she got a bit more focus than the rest of the cast, which is interesting. Usually in two parters, Twilight gets the focus unless the whole group gets an even share. As much as I loved season four, I felt like Fluttershy's key episode was pretty weak, and she didn't get too much focus beyond that. Seeing her get a big role here was a nice surprise. Plus she was super adorable.

I literally guessed the whole thing and got 100%. I thought it was a joke thing at first, like you can just click anything and you'll get 100% but I went back and clicked the first answer on everything and failed.

On the new episodes, I found Starlight Glimmer to be one of the more interesting villains. Most have been typical Saturday morning cartoon shenanigans, which isn't really off-putting in itself. Though considering this show tends to have interesting characters, Starlight was a welcome villain to have.

I've noticed that 2 of the 6 episodes (5 if you consider the first 2 to be 1) have been focusing on the crusaders, and more to do with their buttmarks than before. I'm hoping it's some sign that one or all of them will get those. Its been too long, some other development should happen with them.

Is this show still good? I used to watch it a lot during it's first couple of seasons and I really enjoyed it. I looked forward to saturdays every week just for the show, actually. But around season three or so I started to lose interest as the plots started to feel more hallow and rushed, and that along with losing time to college, I kinda stopped watching. I still hear about the show every now and then though so apparently it's still running strong. Is it worth looking into again? I'm passively interested in seeing where it is now.

S4 picked back up from the slump of S3. Not quite S2 material, but these of course are all my own opinions.

Can't comment on S5.
Also, the haitus hit me hard so I sorely need to catch up. I was going to, but then my computer crapped out so I haven't been able to watch most of S5 due to tinkering and trying to fix it.
