I always have this idea of trying to "Catch 'em all" every now and then, but while I've owned every game now and then, I know I'm super far behind. I have no desire to Pokebank either. So reading about a free Celebi, I got excited. What point though? Not like I'd ever use it. It is a saddening truth.

Most of the time, no, but with Mewtwo (and other 'mons with a catch rate of 3) it helps considerably. Huh, forgot that status was additive in G1 and G2. So yeah, status forever. now if only there was a guaranteed sleep move (cough*spore*cough)

FRZ is nice because it never unfroze in gen 1, and gave the same bonus as sleep.
I could have used Parasect but it is so frail and would have been much slower than mewtwo

I'm just leery about using freeze in G1 for legendary capture since two of the fouive legendaries are ice-weak and there's no move in G1 that just inflicts freeze.

I used Ice Beam with lapras and soft reset until it landed a freeze (for the 2 birds). It was easier for mewtwo because it could tank at least 4 ice beams to speed things along.

Can't you use a pro controller, and gamepad? If that's the case I was able to get my controller from a flea market for only $20

I can use the gamepad (and have to for Player 1 apparently?), but I only have wiimotes and gamecube controllers + adapter, so it would be pretty annoying for the second player. I'm assuming the wiimote + nunchuck don't even work period. I could get a pro controller but I don't think I ever saw any at less than 40€. Is it really too much to ask to have the gamecube adapter work for anything other than smash??

They do have Gamecube controllers that are designed to plug into the Wii U and work as pro controllers

Gonna go ahead and predict that Sun and Moon let you go fart around in Hoenn in some capacity. Because Meteor Falls, because as I understand it there's speculation they take place in a tropical region, but mostly because it's like 3am and it makes sense to me at the moment. :​P

my just-thought-up-on-the-spot-and-probably-not-true prediction is that there will be 2 evil teams like in gen 3 and both of them want to crash the earth into the corresponding celestial object. Or make the world perpetual day/night or something.
