Hey guys. I'm trying to set up my amps as my speaker system, and I know exactly what I need to do to get the basics down (get some 6.5 to 3.5) but what would I do to account for audio panning? So far, I know I'll need a splitter to allow me to use my bass amp and my guitar amp, but I'm not sure if the splitter will be like "Okay, this is left and this is right." Anyone got any ideas on what I can do to account for audio panning? Would I need an extra bass amp and an extra guitar amp? Because that'd suck. Maybe I could use my current tweeters to account for it?
TLDR version: help me set up amps as speakers that allow for audio panning. If not, tell me how I can use my current tweeters WITH the amps to allow for panning.

A splitter will just duplicate what you put into it, it doesn't matter which one is left or right. But if you are using a guitar amp and a bass amp, you can't do stereo. Otherwise it will sound asymmetric, having a bass amp for the left and a guitar amp for the right. Personally I would just buy some laptop speakers. Guitar amps aren't meant for that sort of thing.

I'm guessing you are looking to save money by using a computer as a mixing board.
Go to radioshack or monoprice.com. Get some jumper wires and a 3.5mm stereo plug and 2 mono 1 1/4" plug(whatever your guitars use).
Combine in a 2 Gallon mixing bowl.
Plug into Line-In.
Use a mixer or capable media player(mediaplayerclassic/winamp). If you know how, you can probably even combine the channels partially or create a center channel audio with AVS. Try to record as pure stereo and then convert to two mono channels. You can always mix them together, but you cannot unmix them.
