I'm surprised how many talkhausers I've talked to that haven't even touched the original Legend of Zelda game for NES/Famicom. Are you one of them?!

Wasn't enthralled as a kid, and couldn't beat the forest maze thingy anyway. I played it again a few years back and put it down after the third or fourth dungeon.
The nature of the signature is significant and natural.

Man Zelda 1 is one of those games that really did not age well in the slightest. There is absolutely no reason to even touch it these days aside from nostalgia or idle curiousity.

I had it for the NES, and if I'm remembering correctly it had the habit of erasing save files on occasion. I had no idea about anything, I think I knew where the first two or three dungeons were, and the one in the graveyard, but that was it. It was a game that would occasionally pop up throughout the years. One night I stayed at a friend's house and we played the shit out of it.

Eventually I got the remake or port or whatever you want to call it for the GBA and I think I made it all the way to the last dungeon but I never managed to kill Ganon
I'm on Twitter and Discord so say hi to me on there cause I like to vanish from here forever repeatedly also I have sigs off so I can make my sig as ugly as I want and it won't bother me this is my sig btw

Like most games I owned as a little kid, I was not very good at it. I finally gave it another spin a few years ago using a guide from an old Game Informer and beat the first quest after like 19 years of owning it. I couldn't beat the sequel though. That Grand Palace was just too tough for me.

I played this game a lot as a kid, and thanks to Mum learning the method to play the second quest right away, that's what we usually played. In fact I didn't know what the first quest looked like until many years later. True story.

Really fun game to try a triple-zero run on, though. Either quest.

I got stuck early in the second quest because I couldn't find most dungeons many years ago. I still occasionally tell myself that I should go back and do it again!

Man, beat the first quest when I was what, 8? 10? And got through 3/4ths of the second quest or so... barking years ago geeze. Got stuck in a dungeon, all I remember is there were those snowflakes (for the life of me can't remember the name of the mob) and I couldn't find any blue ones to run into to get weapon action back and got too angry with it to keep trying.

I've only played part of one NES game ever (not counting the stuff on Super Mario All-Stars), and it wasn't Zelda. Though I do plan on trying it someday.

Me and Trough went to this store that sells old video games and I bought the NES LoZ, reminding myself I could totally take a safety pin to my NES and get it working again.

Then four of the pins broke when I tried to bend them back into place.

I am sad.

I actually think that game is really fun. But for some reason my saves keep disappearing from my cart a few hours after I save them, which is why I have not beaten it.

Last time I played it I was...I wanna say I was 4.
Then my parents sold the NES to my cousin, and replaced it with an SNES.

Never played it. Don't think I want to either. A link to the past is my favorite 2-D zelda game though.

Man, the original Legend of Zelda. I played this once way back when, and haven't bothered playing it since. From what I heard it was supposed to very difficult in the way it was setup and as to how one is to play it. This being that it isn't of the typical or now traditional Zelda dungeon sequential style.

I stand with you on this, I love Link's Awakening. Easily one of the best titles out there in my opinion.
