Spurred on by nostalgia brought on by arguments in the request-a-game topic, I have recorded an hour or so's worth of LP (and more will be in the future)

Holy crap, I never knew you could kill the eyes! They didn't make a sound when you hit them, so I thought they were invincible! I learned something new about Rayman today, and this makes me happy.

Have you ever played the Playstion version? Lives and cages are in different locations.

No, I've never played the Playstation version, only the PC version.
I think I played the GBA version a slight amount, but I don't think I beat it.

I think that the Playstation version also breaks up a lot of the music. If you listen to the PC version of Dream Forest: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2GITxJJ50U, you'll notice that it's really 4 different songs strung together, with ambient jungle noises as the transistions.
The Playstation get's rid of the ambient (I think), and makes those 4 songs level specific.
I tend to prefer the PC one, since I like music that 'travels', so to speak. Listening to them all together is better since it flows from the 'HAPPY AND FULL OF ADVENTURE!' first part, and then steadily gets darker as you go further into the jungle, until you panicking and being chased by mosquitoes buzzing everywhere in the last part.
As you can tell, I think the music in this game is phenomenal, and has the best soundtrack of any video game, period.

For fun, I'll divide Dream Forest and name each part:

DREAM FOREST: 4:57
jungle ambience: 0:00-0:09
Happy Forest: 0:09-1:14
jungle ambience: 1:14-1:35
Dark and Mysticue Jungle: 1:28-2:27
jungle ambience: 2:20-2:44
Starting to Get Lost: 2:39-3:35
jungle ambience: 3:28-3:48
Mosquitoe Attack!: 3:48-4:57

Ok, I played through some of Rayman now. I got further than I ever got as a child on my first attempt. It's still a hard game - but man I overhyped it.

Ofcoarse you clear that jump after the bouncy maze on your second try. I had to use the 99 lives cheat, AND the extra continues cheat.

Space Mama, man did I hate her. Not sure if you noticed, but the first level in Space Mama's Crater has two exits. It is possible to go to the upper exit, and then backtrack to the bottom one.

I used the 99 lives cheat so many times beating (up to Skops) this game. AUS is obviously just using tools.

So imagine how flabergasted I was to learn that his laser follows your fist. How are you supposed to figure that out? That's not intuitive it all!

Sadly by the time I got that far in the game I'd already watched an LP of it (since I never got past Allegro Presto as a kid) - so that was kind of spoiled for me. But yes, and Skops has a pretty good theme too.

Seriously though - that whole thing of having to collect all the cages is just the worst thing. xD The levels take enough effort to beat on their own. Having said that - I do occasionally go back and get the cages in a level or two - so hopefully I'll have beaten the game in a few years.

I am pretty sure you are supposed to figure it out by attempting to attack him and then noticing that hey, his laser thingy follows my fist.
