Guild Wars 2 (Interest check/let's talk about)

So, while I didn't pre-order GW2, my wife did talk me into buying it only hours before digital copies stopped being sold. Anyone else on the Talkhaus play it/thinking of playing it? I'm torn on my opinion, so I'm interested to see what other people think.

A lot of things were done very well, especially making different weapons interestingly different between classes. For example, Mesmers for some reason can use greatswords, but they are a ranged weapon for them. A warrior with a rifle is a silly troll, but once you put it into the hands of an Engineer it's a totally gimmick-based weapon.

Things not done so well in my opinion are the waypoints. The best thing about Guild Wars was the fact that you could go anywhere, limited only by your loading screens, as long as you've been there once before. You can now teleport to waypoints from anywhere, but you need to pay some money for the privilege.

I've also started a guild, Unworthy, but as none of my friends actually play the game yet it's just me. If anyone's interested, it's not going to be a "seeking glory on the battlefield" kind of guild, nor a "let's only do the highest level content forever" kind of guild, but more a convenient place to talk to friends and party wherever is interesting at the time. Also, once I can afford an emblem it's gonna be purple and have a turtle on it and everything :D

So yeah, just an interest check, place to discuss the game, that sort of thing.

I'll say it's sparked my curiosity, but I go through MMOs like they're finger foods. I've never been one of those to get "hooked," I think the longest I've ever played any MMO was maybe three or four months. Lack of funds lately and/or getting burned by how disappointing Tera was has made me a little gun shy, though I keep getting told GW2 is supposed to be good. Like, actually good, not... Tera good.
