Haha yeah. The first two songs you can hear in Hyper 5 are two of my favorite custom musics.
Also, when SMWCP comes out will this be on hold?

What I was wondering, too...

Is this a full-scale hack? I presume it is, but you never know what those crazy Japanese people brew up. Depending on how long SMWCP takes, if raocow just needs a week or so to finish Hyper after it comes out, I'd say why start with SMWCP immediately? They might even catch a few bugs after release and he'd have a better version to play. ASMT did have a few bugs right after coming out, too.

The music probably isn't custom at all. The music from Yoshi's house level and the switch palace is a battle theme from EarthBound, an awesome game.

EDIT: The way raocow used "custom music" in terms of it being a good quality kind of confused me... Oh well, it didn't seem like he recognized the EarthBound music, anyway.

Custom music, in the context of SMW hacking, simply means music inserted in addition to the default soundtrack.

The start of a new LP always feels so refreshing. Hoping this ends well too!

Obviously he's is going to finish this even if SMWCP comes out before he's done. It's only fair.

You guys ask this about all the hacks he's waiting on (ASMT, VIP, now SMWCP), it's their own fault (for lack of a better word) that they aren't out, so why should everything be dropped to play them immediately?
I'm on Youtube andTwitter and Discord so say hi to me on there cause I don't really post here also I have sigs off so I can make my sig as ugly as I want and it won't bother me this is my sig btw

Well, I just played through the first world and few levels in world two, and I think that this is gonna be a pretty cool LP. The hack has that kind of 'japanese flare' to it.
The porcupines in 2-1 startled the crap outta me...
EDIT: Hey, Cup, can I have the translation, possibly?

Sure. Um, I'll just put it here in case anyone else wants to see it.
World Two Level names

Wild Dance of the Leaves

-level text box
(this one has me baffled, I'm pretty sure there is a typo, because
otherwise is makes absolutely no sense. My best guess is,)
"This forest is a place where leaves flutter about.
Since that might be troublesome, best scatter them with a shell."

Runaway from the Thorns Mario!

-level text box
Runaway Mario this is a terrible place!
This time, Jumping once takes one coin.
Jumping with no coins however, well reaching the real goal becomes impossible.

-second text box
From here on out, I'm told everything gets really tricky, but since it's world two, it's okay.

   Failure Vault

   The Forest's Fortress

-Fortress textbox
Be careful, because that green moss allover the floor is slippery.

HAIMARI Yellow Switch (Haimari is the hack author)

-level text box
"Haimari HMW"
If you're trying to enter that pipe, well there's stuff on it.
You should try collecting the "Haimari HMW" pannels.
(I'm suspecting another typo here, so I improvised a bit)

 Loop! Loop! Loop?

-level text box
     -One Point Advice-
The proper item goes through.
Bring a Silver P-switch through a pipe
and it will effectivly become a like a blue P-switch

-second text box
You better wake up and memorize the level layout up to this point.

Climbing on Logs

Beware of the Castle Musroom

-after boss text
(looks like another typo here)
To protect nature, Mario became a foreman,
and put restrictions on Roy's forest destroying
castle building ways.
I've only done up to world three as of now. I'm holding off because I plan to play through the game with a Japanese friend tomorrow night, so I imagine the translation quality will greatly improve with his help. Same as before though, open to any corrections or suggestions. My Japanese is a little rusty.

Also is there a way I can just look up text boxes with Lunar Magic? I wouldn't want to miss one or get stuck on a secret exit later on.

oh boy, SMB3 sprites.

I just noticed an inconsistency between the koopas and the shell-less ones when SMB3 sprites are involved: I can understand their becoming bi-pedal when without shells but, where the hell do the shell-less ones get their shoes?

I forget which LP'er said that too many people have a boner for SMB3 resources.

Liking this hack a lot. Will be neat to see the later levels~

Also raocow could you ,like, turn the in-game volume up a little or something?
It's really hard to hear the music over you and it sounds like it's well done so...
edit: well not too loud or anything. But it seemed higher in TSRP2 etc

I had to look up that kanji, but that does seem to fit much better. In that case, something like "This forest is a place where leaves dance/flutter about," which definitely fits the context of the stage. I'll edit that in. What really throws me off though is that he says ところが twice. I mean ところがところ is something else all together, but the fact that he has が twice makes me think it must be a typo. I've noticed stuff like this in several other text boxes as well. Thanks for the help.

Friggin HAIMARI switch was a tough one. Same with Forest's Fortress. The game gets tricky pretty early...
I loved Runaway from the Thorns Mario! Too bad it didn't have Stickerbrush Symphony as the music. :<

Anyone else playing along/ahead/already played it?

Yeah I'm on world 3 (I think) and the game is getting pretty tricky already....the enemy placement doesn't give you much time to react.

Just you wait. I'm at the end of world 4 now and it has some pretty unfair moments.
That's Japanese as well I guess
But let's try not to put to much spoiler (tags) in this thread
Not that you can spoil without the tags, but because that's a bit nicer to the rest of the readers. or something. I don't know where I'm going with this..

You know, I'm surprised the Blue switch isn't used first in more hacks.

Unlike the other three, Blue gives no power ups.
