There is also a game robot wants kitty, but since that robot wants puppy is the sequel the kitty is on your head. basically you upgrade your stuff, kill things, go places, and find the puppy (Kinda similar to AUS)
It's not that long, but its a pretty good sized flash game

Re: Well, this thread isn't what I expected to do either!
Just puttin' some ideas out there; How about Recca? I've seen gameplay videos, but I have NEVER seen a let's play... It pretty much started the whole "bullet hell" thing. It's not indie, but only 150 carts were ever made and I really don't think they're making money off of it.
My other ideas are either Blaster Master or Banana Prince, and that's it. I can't think of anything indie that's either long enough to be worth an LP, or hasn't been LPed to death.

Throwing my usual suggestion out there for people to...not be interested in.
I know you're against SMW hacks, but would you be interested in a Mario fangame? It doesn't look or feel like SMW at all (or any 2D Mario for that matter), since it's inspired a lot by the 3D Mario games. It's in Flash, and I know your computer is sometimes slow but it could probably run this game fine. There are a total of 64 "shines" to collect (yes, it's like the 3D Mario games), so there would be plenty of gameplay out of it.
Oh yeah, it's called Super Mario 63. I can get you a download link if you're interested.

I know he said nothing beyond 16-bit, but this could be really cool too. Again, still Mario but different enough.randoguy101 wrote:So I'm back to my last suggestion of "A Mario hack but not really what you expected".

You are awesome for suggesting this. Plus I think raocow would really love these games. They're a bit short, but the art is amazing yet goofy at the same time. This gets my vote.Tails_155 wrote:Hello Thread, where's the pie?
Also, two games (one is a sequel to the other)

If I wanted to kill him I'd suggest something dumb like Eris. Redesign is longer and harder than Legacy, sure, but I think it's something he could do with enough effort.NaturesFoulChild wrote:Do you want to kill raocow?Kilgamayan wrote:Actually I'm probably going to get stabbed repeatedly for suggesting this seriously this time, but Super Metroid Redesign.
He'd probably need to walkthrough the early Varialess Norfair shenanigans, though. I know I had to. >_>

Kilgaguy, Redesign has the Hell's Run. As much as I'd like to see rao LP another SM hack, there's no way this is going to be fun to him.
By foul design.

Just what kind of length are we looking for here anyways?
Re: Well, this thread isn't what I expected to do either!
I guess Yume Nikki would fit the criteria of a Japanese indie game, though I heard it is supposed to a sort of 'horror' game.

Try "Haze". It's a game that was so focused on gameplay, that it forgot to hire good voice actors.
It's a First Person Shooter where The MANTEL Corporation sends soldiers to the Boa region of South America for a reason nobody cares about and blah blah blah.
But, as seen from the top paragraph, The voice acting is flat out terrible. It's almost worth the Purchase just to hear the gems that this game can speak, such as these.
"That was like taking candy from a crippled baby!"
"Go suck some balls, Skincoat!"
"This sure beats snorting Instant Coffee!"
Yea. I know.
The best part? it's worth $6!
The worst part? it's commercial. But, very few people actually played it.
I guess you can see why.

Well, the two that I can think of ('cause I didn't read the thread) is/are Noitu Love and Chalk. I found both to be pretty fun, and pretty challenging as well.

Uwabami Breakers?
It's a shooter game about a girl and stuff like barhopping, chopsticks and a man with an afro.
A download link should be somewhere on this site: http://alcostg.amatukami.com/

Here's a unique idea: do a LP-like video demonstration of Walfas flash. It's a site-embedded flash application that allows you to take Touhou characters and props to create scenes you see on Youtube and stuff. But there's a lot of features, such as being able to save the flash locally and a minigame if you go to Toys > Mysterious Gap.
