I love the soundtrack of this game. Damn, it's so good.

I'm not going to lie, though. I liked AUS much better than VVVVVV.

I am sad.

This is one of those games where it's not too bad when you die though. There is no big, long death sequence, and there are plenty of checkpoints (which, in my opinion, made it far more fun to play). You could actually practice on each room without having to do a bunch of stuff prior to it each time you die.
VVVVVV is really more of a "next challenge" game than a "endurance" game.

Kinda like kaizo hacks, except less rediculous.
Feel free to call me Error 52. I'd actually prefer it.

Version 2.0? With new levels?

AAAAAA

Anyway.

You think you'll LP the new levels, raocow? Seems like the new levels make up a whole new game. (Hopefully, you got the message in your inbox regarding the free upgrade...if not I can forward it. Sadly, it doesn't seem to work for me on OS X 10.5.8...):)

It's part of the Humble Indie Bundle #3. You can get it for a dollar if you so desired.

Sooooo, looking over the player levels...some thoughts:
-SoulEye's gots a new track. Sounds more Genesis/Mega Drivey than 8-bit.
-Some of the new levels exhibit a couple new bugs inherent in the game's coding that could be used for TAS or Kaizo-style works (in particular, placing a floor too close the edge can introduce clipping).
-Most of the player levels offered are a step up in difficulty, but not necessarily awful. Granted, the conveyor belts are to me what wind in a SMW romhack is to raocow, but otherwise they seem to understand level design enough to make it interesting.
-SoulEye, on the other hand...he's a great composer, but a shit level designer. He seems more interested in creating MariAri-esque BS in the name of difficulty than creating a compelling challenge. Plus, some his difficulty is artificial garbage: There are a couple obstacles that have alternating windows of opportunity that require you to wait about 10-20 seconds to open up, then have variable timing that make it impossible to create a precise movement to work. His levels are the only ones I said "Fuck this" to. They are the ones that if I can access them on the level editor, I'd fix them.

What's with all the snobbery over "free" software in the comments on the VVVVVV blog entry there

They want open source to have a very specific definition and felt that V6 was diluting that definition by incorrectly using the term.
