It's weird seeing vitriol Issun's way, he didn't bother me in the slightest for some reason.
The rope things to which you were referring are
shimenawa . Odds are good you've seen them all over the place in various weeb games.
Congratulations on completing your
DOG -gone difficult quest! Waka's latest prophecy: "I foresee a
rendezvous with a sweet little thing ."

You know, if a silent protagonist is causing enough narrative problems that you need to have their proxy speak enough for three people, maybe you should just let your hero talk a bit instead.

When i got to the part where you carry Kushi to the Moon Cave, i ended up just roaming around the world for a while, in part because i didn't want to rush Kushi straight to her doom but mostly because the music was so good.

The moon cave's linear yet highly puzzle-based design would honestly not feel out of place as a wind waker dungeon, all things considered. You're not gonna get hopelessly lost in it, but it keeps you busy, the amount of puzzles here keep the cave feeling full without being oversaturated. Gimmicks abound, like the supposedly broken cannon, the invisible path, and the wind-guided fire sphere, but they don't become "The Gimmick" of the area, everything is given a fair shake and then things move on. I like it honestly.

Seriously though the revelation that Susano (a) is actually legitimately really talented and (b) knew all along that you were helping him out (and thus was just faking all his consternation-turned-paranoia up to that point) completely blew my mind the first time I saw that cutscene

if there was ever a chance of me liking issun it evaporated with his one line where he's like "heh heh maybe I can get sakuya drunk"

The game does a good job of building up to the idea that Susano is a contributing part of the Susano/Amaterasu combo after all, especially in the scene where you rescue Kushi from monsters in Agata Forest. The fact that you can one-shot everything with a slash, which you normally can't do, is a good hint that Susano's sword is actually doing something. That part stands out for how well it blends the gameplay and story together in a way not a lot of games really try to do.

We've seen it a number of times over the last few episodes so I want to say that I love the happy dancing animation NPCs have in this game.
