Re: VIP6 - Gifu
I could tell by watching that forward acceleration looked unnaturally fast, that would definitely not help

Re: VIP6 - Gifu
I tried looking at the acceleration in RAM, and it seems you reach max speed in 2/3 of the normal time to max speed when upside time (when just holding forward). That's shockingly different (at least to me--I suppose with all the jumps small runs in the vertical section it was hard to tell). It is also less smooth than normal (you don't oscillate at max speed), and of course you begin moving more abruptly.

Re: VIP6 - Gifu
I watched like half this video with my laptop upside down lol. Those physics are definitely different. Mario seemed to accelerate weirdly fast, but decelerate more slowly than you'd expect given that?
I think the level author coded their own movement physics for Upheaved Mario. It's like an amateur's best attempt to replicate the exact acceleration formulas in SMW, and getting something vaguely close, but landing in the uncanny valley.
So you're switching back and forth between SMW's physics and the physics of a solo indie mario clone, but the upside-downness means you can't tell how your instincts are misleading you.

Re: VIP6 - Ishikawa
so I'm considering making d-side official, and with that I'm thinking of changing the timeslot to something that is not 'just the mario slot but a bit earlier'. My goal is to make the time between videos as balanced as possible. I'm thinking somewhere in the afternoon est ?

Re: VIP6 - Ishikawa
I'm honestly surprised you're managing to consistently keep up with 4 LPs at once as it is.
I don't think I could personally record footage for 4 games (some of them very difficult), edit them, and get them uploaded every day. It seems like a not-unlikely scenario where you end up in a point at 2 or more games where the recording session turns out super long and you find yourself stressing that you won't have enough time to fit in the other games you have to play that day.

Re: VIP6 - Ishikawa
we've had this happen before, in which case I just put out a quick notice that says 'hey this side isn't airing today'. It happened in iconoclast before, and then that one time where I played nothing but Shuffle.

Re: VIP6 - Ishikawa
Alright well as long as you're not too worried about forcing 4 videos into every day
If the question is just about the timeslots, I personally don't mind the current system of waking up to 2 videos (for my timezone). If I'm not interested in one of the games I can just ignore it but there's a better chance there's something for me to watch in the morning

Re: VIP6 - Ishikawa
I already have trouble keeping up with series/sides but I also don't try to watch everything. If you really feel like you can keep it up then sure, give it a shot.

Re: VIP6 - Ishikawa
For the timeslot question --
are you still uploading videos in a different order than you record them? I remember that getting confusing sometimes. If messing with your timeslots involves fixing that, that'd be my vote. Though if you have your reasons no worries.
The exact time you upload doesn't matter much, I watch during lunch or evenings regardless.

Re: VIP6 - Ishikawa
this would be a huge win, getting recording order and airing order in the same continuity, if that's at all possible
otherwise I'm down with whatever so long as something still goes up at 12:30 UK time (7:30EST), otherwise I will be unable to eat sandwiches

Re: VIP6 - Ishikawa
Based on spotzone discussion from last night, it sounds like the he came up with a tentative schedule so there'd be a new video every 6 hours
"patreon vote"/mario slot at 5:30 am eastern
"raocow's choice" slot at 11:30 am
"royale" slot at 5:30 pm
"all the" slot at 11:30 pm
with certain slots getting priority for things like "can't record 4 videos today"/iconoclasts rule or advent stuff

I always feel bad for the stuff that gets skipped because it is invariably a game that is being enjoyed that gets skipped in favor of a game that is very much not being enjoyed.
