It's alright. The gimmick only really works after you beat the game and can swap weapons freely. I do kind of wish you could mute the talking, too. If you die in a segment, you have to hear alllll of it over again.

There's a lot of humourous, voice acted dialogue almost throughout the game as you play.
The avatars on top are really expressive as they speak too.
The game's difficulty is pretty chill.

Has raocow ever played "Super Paper Mario"? I tried using the search function on raocow's YouTube page, but didn't see it. Seems like something he would have done by now.

honestly feel like raocow might enjoy paper mario 1 more than super. people can repeat the obvious differences between the two (yes, super paper mario is technically a platformer), but like, actually think about the way the games are designed beyond their genre

i personally don't recommend super paper mario to anyone who goes to games for their gameplay first. i love it a ton, but it's a clunky weird game that actively doesn't want you to have fun at times. the first paper mario would be way more fun to see from raocow, as it's a charming, simple, and well-designed game that's easy to get into. it'd also feel like a natural jump from raocow's superstar saga lp since the games have similar (not the same, but similar) battle systems

I loved watching a Super Paper Mario LP, but actually playing the game put me to sleep. So yeah, I also think raocow would have a ton more fun with the original Paper Mario.
