The best part about what just happened today wasn't just the fight itself, but that

defeating as many Zotelings as Zote had precepts (57) unlocks a new title screen which is just the statue of Zote...and the theme music as sung by Zote. It's a total riot, let me tell you.

If I remember correctly, wasn't a playable Zote a stretch goal for the original kickstarter?

If you go digging through all of Zote's precepts, and you Dream Nail him at a few points across the game, you learn that he is the way he is because he has massive daddy issues and he's simultaneously trying to live up to Wyrm's precepts and rebel against them. He's almost definitely a sibling, but they never *outright* say it.

I considered doing a big recap post on Zote...but I don't want to spend the effort...

I'm glad to see you're going for it! It gets a bit boring to revisit the beginning of the Pantheon over and over, but I think it's a bullet worth biting for the rest of the experience.

The bosses don't actually have less HP from their previous Pantheon appearances by the way, at least as far as I know. Fragile Strength just makes a huge difference.


The Sisters of Battle are among a few bosses that have remastered battle themes for their Pantheon appearance. It's really amazing:

Enjl posted a pretty good tip in the Youtube comments. Apperently you can unlock armor cucoons for all benches during those rest moments.

Poor Tiso. Ever wonder why he never showed up after you meet him in the coliseum? I've read you can find him,

or rather his corpse where all the other bodies are dumped, below the coliseum

Sisters of Battle is a pretty great reveal, I didn't die to them on my run through the 5th Pantheon but I think I came close, the panic sets in pretty fast.

"way deep in" oh you poor soul, 15 out of 42, barely a third of the way in and mostly only the easy bosses

maybe not a bad idea to at least peek at the second level form of all the bosses in the basement off-camera so that there aren't any surprises that come out of nowhere and cost you having to replay the entire pantheon again? not that that will matter for the other two ??? bosses

Did someone bug raocow about how he tends to only use basic attacks in the patreon group? It's just striking that he started using his other attacks in the recent episode.

He tends to never fully utilize his entire moveset, in many games he's played. Rabi Ribi is another example, where he'd a get new move, but not use it regularly until much later. Thankfully, that game eventually beat him enough to change.
And it looks like it took until this boss rush to finally step up his game to.

Even then, the down smash move saw its most use during Zote the Mighty, and never since until his return.
