Here it is! Inspired by what Ometeotl did in the Kirby's Adventure topic. Though this will be more complicated than that. Each treasure that raocow get's in the LP will be added to this flow chart, as he plays. Each image of a treasure will be a link to the episode he gets them (so they might be out of order, haha!)

Also thank you Enjl for showing me how to make this work.

Here it is! The 1st place Winner of patreon A-Side poll of Spring 2017! My gosh, these need to happen more often (maybe Top 5 next time)?

Out of the first 4 Wario Land games, number 3 is my favorite (though I've yet to give VB Wario Land a good shake). I like it mainly on how its structured, which we'll see how tomorrow.

Unlike other topics I've taken, I'm going to post links to each episode of the LP, for the first time. They'll go in the above post. Why do I need another post for those?
You'll see ;)

Wario Land 3 was my first ever handheld game. My mom bought me a used Gameboy Color and it came with this game. For quite a while it was all I had so I played the hell out of it. It holds a lot of nostalgia for me.
Looking forward to this one!

Mostly I'm just hoping it will be more interesting than 2 because I found that one kind of boring. Anyway I'm looking forward to it regardless

Only Wario game I played, played this a dozen times. I think it's very good, but I played it as a kid so my judgment is suspect! Either way, looking forward to this.

Yup! As always I'm hoping that raocow will find things and learn things in the game, while recording, as much as possible. Wait til he's genuinely stuck before trying to give hints!

... he yelled at a brick wall, on the other side of which is everyone in the youtube comments.

I mean think about it, he could've easily walked around that tree.

Like a true Metriovania, Wario inexplicable loses all his powers from WLII.

On the in-level pause screen, the 'Save' quits to the Title Screen, and creates a temp checkpoint in level. Not that you'll ever use it for this LP.
The 'Map' button quits to the map, and changes the day cycle.

While on the map, press and hold 'B'.

'The Peaceful Village' changes quite a lot in the night, even how you get the Grey Key. You should duck in and take a look!

---------------------------------------

Wario Land 3 is my favorite game o' all time, so I will hopefully have a lot to write 'bout.

1 thing I like 'bout the 1st level is the sheer # o' tantalizing foreshadowing it has. The path to the gray chest is a straight line; but in that straight you pass throw blocks you can't break, a frog / mole ( I always thought 'twas 'nother version o' Prince Froggie, that fat crying pink frog in "The Peaceful Village", but I've read in places that it's s'posed to be a mole ) platform you can't get under, a door that leads to high cliffs o'er water you can't reach, a music coin way up in the sky you can't reach, and near the end, a cliff with a particularly tantalizing green key you can't reach. It feels like the perfect way to start a Metroidvania like this.

I'm surprised you didn't notice the Doughnuteer ( name for the donut-throwing joes ) throwing a donut from high-up off-screen at the top of the room with the column o' cracked blocks when you were trying to jump off the Spearhead to reach the higher part o' the room. Thanks to this guy & 'nother glitch, you can actually get the red treasure @ this point, which speedrunners do to save a li'l time. However, I wouldn't recommend trying it on a 1st runthrough, not only 'cause it arguably ruins the game sequence a bit, but also 'cause the glitch you need to do to reach the red chest requires precise movement.

The music coins are like dagadons in that you have to collect them all in 1 go. Unlike most posters, though I agree that the reward you get for getting all o' them in every level is lame, I would argue for getting the music coins if you think it'd be fun ( getting all the dagadons in VIP 4 didn't do anything, either, & was much worse than anything Wario Land 3 could throw @ you ).

That said, I would recommend waiting till you get all the treasures before trying to get all the music coins, as you need just 'bout everything unlocked to get them all.

You were correct in noticing that the only way WL3 can punish the player is by wasting their time. I really don't like that and as a result, this game is incredibly frustrating to me. I'd love to like it, but I just can't, there's too many levels that are just insanely annoying to get through. Let alone get all 8 coins, which usually means exploring every route towards every chest all over again.

If you do decide to do that, it's not a bad idea to couple getting the last chest in a level with the coin run. If you can get the chest, you should have all the abilities needed to get all the coins as well (I might be wrong there, though).

I also started playing the game twice just to immediately get stumped because I have no idea how to get the grey key/chest in the Peaceful Village at night, and if you don't play around like raocow did, it's gonna be night coming directly off the first level. So off the wrong foot immediately! Too bad...

They actually are tildas but the font and font size don't show it very well at all.

I have the forum at 170% zoom because I'm blind as a bat and even I can't see a difference unless you also increase the font size through bbcode.

Okay, I'll try to make this the last time I stand on this soapbox for this LP, but:

I was curious to find out whether raocow would try this on his own right away, or

if he'd split his efforts to the other level and discover the night-time changes when he ran out of other options.

These sorts of "when do they figure this out, what leads them to it" questions are a lot of what I like when I watch an LP for a game I already played. Please try to hold back, everyone.

Nothing feels like a spoiler when you say it yourself, but just as a general rule, don't give hints because raocow might miss something, wait to see if he he does miss something and gets stuck because of it.

The game's a bit confusing at first. At least one of your questions will be answered soon, though.

In general, the solution to most obstacles is going to be either "use a transformation" or "come back later". In a small handful of cases it's "enter specifically at day/night".

As far as music coins go, I'm pretty sure you can almost always get them when you have access to all the treasures in a level. There might be a few exceptions to that, but if you're going for them, then try it when you go for the last chest.

Also, I don't remember seeing that fish in the first level at all. Weird that it's a night-only enemy.

WL3 was always my favorite in the series. I know a lot of other people who prefer 2, but there's something about 3 that I just love. It just has a lot of good things about it, from good music, to very nice spritework for a GBC game, and lots of fun gameplay mechanics. I made sure to grab it when it showed up on the 3DS Virtual Console. I love how this game's world feels more alive and active, even if it's just as simple as having a day/night cycle. Having the treasures impact the levels you can access helps with that too. Collecting stuff and slowly being able to explore more and more pieces of the levels is exactly what I loved as a kid, and I hadn't even played a Metroid game yet.

Looking forward to this LP.

Each treasure that raocow get's in the LP will be added to this flow chart, as he play. Each image of a treasure will be a link to the episode he gets them (so they might be out of order, haha!)

A legend will be added later, when the image grows a bit. I was hoping raocow would have gotten more than 2 treasures today

If you're going to go through that amount of effort might I suggest adding a timestamp to the links so that each image links to the beginning of its associated level? (Unless it's the first level in that video though.)
