The entire Halloween thing is DLC, by the way. If you try going after the glowing square on the map, you'll get to another point that basically goes "this is v hard maybe don't go beyond this point unless you've cleared the main game".

I like how the first two people to leave Seana's concert weren't even residents of the town.

there's no save in the warp destination in case you come in underprepared and can't beat the boss
it's being nice but at the same time does mean you have to fight four bosses in a row, yeah, but there's the autosaves between each so w/e

also i think yeah you haven't done

the second ashuri fight yet, the one maingame magic type you're missing is locked behind it too, the one i used most of the game :P

nothing in the credits is postgame postgame things. there are just maingame bosses you haven't fought yet

Autosaves can be loaded from the menu just like normal saves, in case you have another case of "too long playing session".

Also remember if you're confused by buffs/debuffs you can check the effects in the Diary submenu

CONGRATS! YOU BEAT THE GAME!!!

You could've fought Ashuri again but you just never went in the right place. She's in a very straightforward path.

As for red Kotri, you remember that empty spot in the volcano.

The game dropped some real bangers today.
OST status: still insanely good.

Looks like Erina and Ribbon were also added to the 'boss checklist', so there are two less bosses than I thought there were.

I was wondering about that 'side-chapter' that randomly happened a while ago. I guess we're addressing that plot thread. I wonder if we'll get another side-chapter, or two.

I just finished it this morning, and boy howdy, do I not blame you for not finishing it. I had previously cleared

Miriam and Rumi, two very cute and enjoyable fights,

already, but

the Irisu fight, also enjoyable but a lot less cute,

was a bitch and a half. Even the post-post-game DLC stuff wasn't as hard.

Speaking of,

holy Toledo is the entire Irisu subplot and execution super skeevy. Even the outside world wasn't as bad.

I can only imagine no one had said anything because no one else in this thread ever got that far (or, if they did, they simply didn't care all that much).

At least the gameplay was enjoyable, though, and the double plot twist caught me by surprise.

A second post with some notes that can be quoted if need be without spoiling anything. I think all of these things are reasonably safe to say.

* As many others have pointed out, Ashley and Kotri are still available to find and recruit, even despite Ashley being involved in the mysterious spelunking mission. It is generically recommended that you do this before going spelunking, but it is not required by any stretch.
* You will probably want to go and find the Golden Carrot, which is a 100% HP heal item. It only appears in one location and you can't hold more than one at once, but it reappears in that same location every time it gets used, so that's nice. Again, however, not required by any stretch.
* The Halloween DLC should still be avoided for the time being because the obstacles include blocks that can only be destroyed with a type of magic you haven't found yet. That magic type can be found in the main game, though (that is, it's not in or after the infinity tower in the volcano), so once you find it, feel free to check out the Halloween stuff so I can finally use the Lord Pumpkinquiche and Halloween Alice thread titles. It is probably more interesting to do this before the volcano infinity tower, but it's entirely up to you.

the

irisu

fight is incredibly stupid & i looked it up on youtube to see the whole thing so i knew roughly what i was dealing with, even then it took several tries and most all of a full set of health items to defeat on top of having literally everything i could get in the game up to that point

it's just, not radical at all, yo. it's a bad fight. i hope raocow has less trouble with it though but considering his playstyle already relies a lot on healing & food items, something i was very reluctant to use myself (only ever used them in that fight and the

rumi

fight because that one is super long too) i uhh, don't expect it to go well

I dunno, I thought it was super difficult but without resorting to complete bullshit (particularly once you figure out to

Amulet your way through the four status effects at the very beginning

). It does more or less require

a lot of endurance and at least something of a background in danmaku games

, but 95% of the fight is either fixed or depends entirely on what you're doing at any given moment and thus is manipulable. There's not a lot of randomness to it, and what little randomness there is is presented in a fashion that does not make it very troublesome to deal with.

That being said, I do expect it to have its own separate video, and to take quite some time to overcome, even if only to learn how each attack works. But I do also expect raoguy to be able to overcome it eventually without MariAriing the game.

Funny how I had never seen this word before the beginning of this LP and you guys have already overused it to the point of meaninglessness

Also I really don't think Irisu is that bad. You are expected to die a lot of times, but it's one of the bosses with the most "learnable" patterns, especially since her attacks are always in the same order. It's just a boss that will catch you off guard if you played the game on normal or lower since it punishes you hard for getting hit (through buff/debuff application), and you can't tank half the attacks and survive. I don't think it's outside of raocow's level in the slightest, but since he tends to get frustrated as soon as he needs to change his "playstyle", it may depend on how fast he'll compose himself

I have been wondering. I picked up the game midway through raocow's playthrough and have been doing a hard mode run, on alternative progression. And the Ashuri fight raocow missed was, like, one of the very first bosses I encountered after starting free rein exploration.

In the blue area, there was a fake wall you didn't notice. It must be just to the right of one of those 'holes' in the map of the blue area, so head there.
