Whait, 4 states have been counted, but there's only 3 episodes out. Someone screwed up!

You did while counting, apparently.

I just double-checked and I didn't skip over anything so far.

So, which emulator did you finally settle on?

Also, if you are ever given the chance, I advise you throw enemies at enemies. there is a good chance that if it's time for a Silver Coin to spawn, you'll get TWO

On the treasure chest game I find it's a bit easier to focus if I make a tunnel vision thing with my hand so that I'm ONLY able to see the game board and nothing else is in my peripheral vision.

It'll be interesting to see if raocow ends up getting all of the things considering he doesn't like spending time farming for 100% completion goals in previous levels (unless it can be automated like SMW life farms)... I think as long as you explore thoroughly and don't get incredibly unlucky with the picture panel games, you should be able to 100% this game without having to do a "farm for coins" episode.

I don't have much experience with Wario Land 2 (I think I played though it once when a friend lent it to me) but I did play a lot of 3 (which uses the same sprites and a lot of the same mechanics) and with the pancake Wario sprite I always thought his feet on his sides was his hair.

I like how raocow says "croissant".

Oh hey raocow started LPing my favorite entry in the Wario series while I was on vacation!

Don't worry, raocow, you'll get the ability to return to stages eventually. And the game will helpfully tell you from the level select whether you got a thing in the level or not.

So just play as you normally would, and don't sweat missing a treasure or two.

So a couple of wrong assumptions you made:
1) Every level from chapters 1-5 have a treasure.
2) You cannot take transformations through doors.
3) That place with the dead end and the thin floor was the top of the boos room. Had you let the Giant Snake eat you, he would have spat you out as an egg, toward the top.
Most boss levels will feature this empty space.

The reason you didn't find the treasure was because you didn't explore thoroughly. I mean, at the top of the 1st room, there were two holes filled with coins you jumped over. Among one other area you missed.

Slight correction, Sebby-

EVERY level has a treasure. Every single one. No need to point out specific chapters, since... well, I'm sure you know why. :P

But yes, even the boss levels, as short as they are, have treasures. It's far easier to find the treasures in them than other levels, since they're so short, and the boss door is blatantly marked, so you always know which way is "treasure" and which way is "progression"

and the only reason i'm saying this is because raocow just learned it anyway, so i'm just confirming :B

I played this game a couple years back when a friend gifted it to me through the eShop. It's pretty fun, but it's so different. It does have its hard spots, so it won't always be a cakewalk like Chapter 1 was. Anyhoo, you'll get your chance to go back and get any missed treasures down the road. Think of it like you would with the Mega Man games for now. If you get them, cool. If not, you will eventually.

Those roosters normally don't attack unless Wario hits them first. We didn't get to see this, but if they see Wario holding the hen, they become a lot more active against you.

A few more moves, for QoL purposes
1) Duck slide: Duck while dashing, and Wario will slide a bit. Use this to save time crawling through tunnels.
2) Dash>roll: If you dash down a hill and then press down, Wario will instantly get into the rolling animation, instead of skidding down on his feet for a bit.
You can glitch this by dashing UP a hill, and then at the very top, press down. If you did it right, Wario will roll in the wrong direction. Note that you still can't roll up hills.

I forgot the game was selective about what enemies are respawned. It seems if you need one to beat the level, it'll come back.

Wario is very greedy and money-obsessed and yet he stopped chasing the ones who took his treasure to get his hen back. He clearly loves it and cares for it very much.

Something I've been meaning to do for a couple days: "Story Time! With Wario Land II"
Previously on Wario Land II...
In the early, sunny morning, Wario is lazily sleeping in his castle, which he bought from a genie for just under 10,000 coins, after ransacking the island of the Brown Sugar Pirates. However, shadowy figures quietly march in, and enter the castle. Once inside, they steal Wario's treasure horde, and vandalize the entire place, including flooding the palace. If Wario wakes up, he needs to restore his castle, and grab back his treasure from the now newly regrouped and rebranded Black Sugar Pirates!
And now...
After beating the Giant Snake guarding the cellar, Wario finds he wasted too much time, the pirates escaped with his treasure! But he is hot on their trail. In their last act of chaos, the pirates scare off Wario's prized Hen! Get her back, then resume the chase, before they leave in their famous ship, the S.S. Teacup
I'll update this with every cutscene.

Let's not do the potential spoilers here. It's something I've been trying to be careful of in the Mega Man thread for item collecting purposes.
