That's why I asked for video presentations in the first place. Seeing someone actually playing his stage is way more interesting then looking at screenshots.

I've decided, I'll take that blue switch. I'll probably make a blue yoshi gimmick, since green yoshi was used in the green switch. It would be nice to know what switch that other switch palace level in the thread is, though, so I don't claim (and make) something that has already been made.

One thing though: Is it just me or are thwomps kinda looking like the frame of an old painting? The edges remind me of golden frames. Well, having such a thing in a hack would look kinda dumb, so... never mind.

^There is my green switch palace. Don't mind the crap quality, I used a webcam to record my ZSNES recording. As I mention in the video, there will be a row of cement blocks under the cement blocks and munchers, just because floating munchers look bad.

With dumb I meant my idea of thinking of the thwomps looking like old painting's frames, only grey instead of gold. The thwomps themselves I like, and as I just said, I like your sprite variation ;)

Do you need the .txt-file or the midi of the song? I still have to see how to create the correct .txt-file. If you know how to do it, I'll just send the midi, right?

As midi-to-txt conversion kind of takes quite a bit of time, I would prefer .txt files.

To insert music into an SMW hack, it NEEDS to be in a certain .txt format. There is a program that converts MIDI files to that format (called Tinymm, but it does it really badly and the files it outputs needs a lot of fixing (octave changing, looping to reduce file size, adding channel headers, et cetera). SMWC has a rather excellent tutorial on the subject, if anyone would like to try their hands at porting songs. (Just note that the part of the tutorial that is about the actual process of adding music to a ROM is kind of outdated.)

Also, the fortress level (which I'm thinking of calling Horse's Revenge) is almost finished. I am still uncertain what to use as the boss, though. I wonder if I'd be able to draw some decent Yoshi graphics for my Thwomp boss...

XD Okay, seeing the Yoshi Crusher in action like that, I change my mind. It's pretty awesome.

Given the assumed difficulty, it defintely should be in the later half of the game. Although, I'm not sure about the whole "give yoshi EXACTLY the amount needed to grow up" thing. I was never a big fan of it, but at least it's at the beginning of the level so it's not like raocow could screw himself over too much.

(...My level seems so simple by comparison...)

So....I spent the morning getting COMPLETELY familiarized with the music format .txt/.mml of SMW (converting from midi is a pain). Thus, you can expect some original music in my levels....
