Hey, remember this? Level Contest Japan was a contest run by iguzamini a few months back, with a few twists on the usual contest formula - each participant could submit up to three levels, and in any of the available flavours of SMBX (1.3, 2.0, 38A). It was advertised on both the SMBX forums and Talkhaus, so in the end quite a large variety of participants submitted, and the international nature of the contest is clear, with submissions from everywhere from the US to Japan to Indonesia. The results were in a month or two back, and finally all the levels have been compiled into one big episode!

Unlike normal contest episodes, this one is organized into a world map (for the 1.3/2.0 levels) and is super open-ended, and there is no clear end or finale. Just run around and play whatever level you want! Unfortunately, since 38A isn't compatible with the other two versions, we had to place the 38A levels in a seperate folder that can be then moved to your local 38A 1.4.4 install. There's over 65 exits and 50 stars in total to get over all levels.

That's basically it! Just enjoy the levels and the super cool worldmap that Pyro and I made. We're not gonna show screenshots of the worldmap here cuz it's full of surprises, see for yourselves >:3

so just a head's up, it's normal that it won't appear in the SMBX2 launcher, but does in that one Beta I had to use for Hypnosis Redo, right ?

Are you talking about beta 3? I'm using beta 3 and the episode shows up on the launcher

alright, it is beta3 so that's cool.

I just wished beta3 stopped asking for me to update. I already HAVE the real version, it's just that it doesn't work with certain games !!!

WOW! Really great graphics and sprites.. Does SMBX have SMW Dolphin? What a dolphin! I'll download SMBX 2.0 and play it soon! Beep!!

Does Negative Space actually have a star? I couldn't find it even when looking at the editor.

Also: My exits/star count for individual levels got nuked twice by now. Does this have an effect on anything? Actual star count is still fine.

Once when updating the game, a second time due to power loss during playing.

Isolated Icy Islands is at 0/1 exits, 0/3 stars despite everything being gotten. And I can't even re-get the stars because they saved to the total.
I'm just wondering if that's just cosmetic or an actual issue that might mess me up in the future.

Updating the game shouldn't nuke the exit count... the save files should be compatible.
Either way it's just cosmetic cause stars and exits don't unlock anything. They're merely a progress tracker which now, for some reason, is a bit messed up.
