The last brain there was actually visible in the video at one point, specifically
you can see it from about 11:25 to 11:30 in the basket with birds next to it

Hey raocow, once you do the platformy bit up the elevator past Crispin, you're pretty much at the point of no return. You might want to make a new savefile at some point.

He copies it from Bobby (the bully with the poofy hair and bad teeth), who does it once early on. Why? I have no idea.

I feel like if anything, it might have been vaguely loosely inspired by this wonderful historic example of song and dance. Not only does Bobby's little tune vaguely sort of match part of the song slowed down, but weird hand motion stuff starts being a thing at 2min in or so.YelseyKing wrote: ↑7 years agoHe copies it from Bobby (the bully with the poofy hair and bad teeth), who does it once early on. raocow, what the game is trying to tell you is that you're going to get a Levitation upgrade when you reach level 50.

i mean i think we would've seen more of bobby doing the stupid thing had raocow done more exploring during the daytime portion of the game, but that's already less than a third of this entire LP now
i've honestly never played a video game in my life
Re: Psychonauts - Tabletop Party of Split Personality
Doesn't the game give you one at that point, along with a warning? Ive not played the game but thats what I remember reading.

It does. In fact, it saves to a completely new *slot*, just for that purpose.

I love how every single level-up, raocow has read the first two words and only the first two words of the pop-up text with no further context... this does explain how he gets confused by message boxes in Mario.
Lovely episode, though. A welcome change of pace before the gauntlets to come.

Slow episodes in which we avoid progress are a welcome break every now and again. :D

Honestly, all of this was "progress" of a sort. It's not like nothing was accomplished, and the platforming was fun to both play and watch!
Re: Psychonauts - Tabletop Party of Split Personality
I love how that same message has been popping up every single time he gains a rank for literally the entire game and suddenly he forgot how to read the last four words of the message.BobisOnlyBob wrote: ↑7 years ago I love how every single level-up, raocow has read the first two words and only the first two words of the pop-up text with no further context... this does explain how he gets confused by message boxes in Mario.

Re: Psychonauts - Tabletop Party of Split Personality
Today, raocow casually stumbles upon one of the hardest PSI cards to find, and figures out how to reach it within minutes. At night.
While only a few minutes earlier, fighting an epic battle with and throwing everything he has (except that obscure "examine" button) at an outhouse door.
There's a gag in an episode of Darkwing Duck, where the titular hero stumbles upon a single crumb, and uses it to deduce the lair of his arch-nemesis. While completely missing the giant sign pointing right to it. Whenever stuff like today's video happens, I can't help but think of that scene.

If he dedicated an entire afternoon or two in order to get them all within 3 episodes or so, I wouldn't be against it.

Re: Psychonauts - Tabletop Party of Split Personality
i mean, honestly, it'll make for some reeeeally boring episodes. he should at least revisit worlds to collect, if nothing else, the vaults he's missing, since those are pretty interesting, but beyond that eeeHHh

Re: Psychonauts - Tabletop Party of Split Personality
I'm actually really curious how he has managed to consistently forget that button throughout this entire LP despite needing to use it fairly often.YelseyKing wrote: ↑7 years agoWhile only a few minutes earlier, fighting an epic battle with and throwing everything he has (except that obscure "examine" button) at an outhouse door.

Re: Psychonauts - Tabletop Party of Split Personality
Seeing all this fun platforming makes me sad that the rest of the game isn't really all that platforming-based, aside from Oleander's and Milla's minds.

raocow walking past all those purple clouds makes me crazy, he doesn't NEED money but money is still very useful, because it's required for dream fluffs and psi cores and the magnet badge still.
