Re: Positivity Thread
in the town i visit to go to my university, there's a little local small-chain donut shop with really good donuts, and for a while now they've been partnered with my university to get some of their donuts in a little case at the coffee shop in the student union. as of mid-last-school-year, that coffee shop was taken out in favor of adding an established-chain bagel-&-coffee place in the student union. since then, i thought that the union didn't have those donuts anymore, but as of this term i just found out that they still do, and they just moved them to a different spot in the building.
hooray for donut
hooray for donut

A few weeks ago, a longtime friend and I reconciled after several years of being angry with each other. I'm happy for that.

Only if you're listening to it because you like the theme and not because you're currently bashing your head against the wall while playing the game

To be fair, it is a pretty positive sounding theme. It's nice to listen to just on its own.ano0maly wrote:Only if you're listening to it because you like the theme and not because you're currently bashing your head against the wall while playing the game

I was accepted into a private university with 2/3 of the tuition already covered by university scholarships. Now to find more scholarships to cover the rest...

I didn't think I needed this thread. I thought I was in an okay mood. But seeing this post.... It gave my life meaning :')Sturg wrote:there is such a thing as bacon pepperoni pizza rolls
Uhh... We recently had so much snow I got a whole week off school! (seriously it was like 3 feet, which is about 10 times what we normally get). That's positive mostly!

Re: Positivity Thread
So, today, after fighting to get on it for a year, I got started on HRT. Considering my Valentine's gift last year was a breakup, this more than makes up for it. Self actualization! Yeah!

I grabbed a new job today and apparently I'm allowed to wear my skirt on the job as part of the dress code. They seem fairly open minded.
Also I got a free meal from my old job as a goodbye gift (I worked at a sandwich shop).
My recent art drawings are coming out nicely and I'm in a good mood. :>

Glad to hear that. Honestly, the work environment and co-workers can make a huge difference. For me, it's even more important than the work itself.Kapus wrote:I grabbed a new job today and apparently I'm allowed to wear my skirt on the job as part of the dress code. They seem fairly open minded.

Re: Positivity Thread
In March of last year, I decided to start exercising daily. Just a simple 15 minutes on the elliptical machine every day.
I had weighed myself last April and marked it down that I was about 150 lbs (and I'm about 5'9", for reference). I hadn't really kept up with the weight tracking, but I finally thought to do it again today, and I'm down to 136.
So that was pretty cool for only putting in a half-assed attempt at being healthier.
I'm trying to kick it into overdrive this year, and actually do some proper muscle-building stuff now. I'm considering getting a gym membership but I'm cheap and hate driving places to work out, so I'm just adding bodyweight exercises to the routine for now.
Wish me luck!

I'm also in the midst of a health kick that's more about toning the body while gaining a bit of muscle on the arms. So far, so good. Throwing in some push-ups every day with my daily workouts has really helped kick this kick into another gear.

Re: Positivity Thread
Yeah, I've specifically decided to go on a push-up training routine for the next month at least. I'm pretty pathetic at the moment and can only do a few normal pushups before my arms buckle, so I'm aiming to do ~8 sets of 10 push ups a day for now, maybe bump it up if I start getting more comfortable. I'm stuck doing half pushups right now, but hopefully I'll be able to switch to regular ones in a couple weeks or so.
