You severely overestimate this game's quality.
It's not even remotely fit for playing without savestates.
How come? Unless you're talking about

cheat man, where savestates are a lot more like playing on equal terms than anything.

Well, yeah. But also how you have to buster duel some (all?) bosses to get rewards and they tend to be extremely random and sometimes just decide "fuck you, you're dead".

The developer didn't even try to make this game fair :v

Asking out of sheer curiosity, I doubt it's the case but...raocow, can you actually record 3DS or PSVita footage?

I was actually going to recommend you a nice game made by the same people who made "Guacamelee!", it's called "Severed", it's a game where you explore a broken world and mainly use your stylus to slice through things and resolve puzzles, it also has a creepy ambiance.
If you can't record it, it's fine, you should at least play it if you have the time, the game is really nice and even if it repeats itself sometimes, it's never boring and always challenging, it's also a few hours long only.

The game is also disponible on WiiU, but I don't know what gaming platforms you own currently.

trailer:

I see what you did there...

It's not too difficult to record 3ds with NTR streaming over wi-fi but the quality is barely youtube-worthy

According to this, it's "playable" in Citra: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... 1611272375

Also apparently runs in CEMU: http://compat.cemu.info/wiki/Severed

Hey there. I'd like to recommend a game called JumpJet Rex. Steam page for those interested.

It's a really fun retro-style platformer where you control a t-rex whose main mode of transportation is flying with its jet boots, go through levels, yadda yadda. It has time trials and encourages replaying levels, and it gets rather difficult towards the end. I can't really describe it any further than that really.

I have an extra copy in my Steam inventory and I'd be willing to donate it. Let me know if interested.

As Ryrir said in the other thread, contests suck. Here is a hack I'm fairly sure raocow would enjoy that is not a contest nor even a collab. It's by old favourite hack author yogui and is quirky, shortish, diverse, fair and fun.

this sounds like a good idea. I have something in smbx I have to do first, but it won't take too long. This should be refreshing.

yeah the two smw hacks I was talking about in the vldc thread are

1) test.smc

and

2) Super ASPE Mario (level name translation by leomon)

both of these hacks are really quite good, though it needs to be said that both of them get pretty dang difficult. Especially ASPE is built around the concept of having hard levels from start to finish, so that's definitely something that would need to be taken into account.

tbh with cldc you could always just tackle the top 10 as a short series, instead of kinda playing through all the levels and taking a while. do a few a day and be done in like, a week.

Just mentioning this since Crash Bandicoot was suggested in the last Patreon B-Side Poll, but it sounds like N.Sane Trilogy might eventually hit the PC.

Because Playstation Ireland is a 100% trustworthy source. :|

That's a really weird thing to say about an official source. You could at least go for the obvious "they only explicitly mention PS4 and whatever a PS4 Pro is by name and don't seem to mention any other specific systems".

I say that because I would assume Playstation Ireland to be a small branch of Sony that wouldn't be aware of or involved in business matters not revolved around Ireland specifically.

I'd accept US, UK, or Japan for sure, but not the Twitter account for what I assume is a tiny piece of a much bigger pie.

i kinda wanna see how raocow would react to eastern mind: the lost souls of tong-nou, since that game is INCREDIBLY surreal and i picture raocow's inherent surrealist attitudes would probably mesh in some amazing fashion with it, especially since that game was also by the guy who made lsd: dream emulator so you know it's gonna be crazy, but i can kinda see why adventure games might not be the sorta thing raocow would play (that and there's one particular puzzle that really, the way you can solve it only makes sense after you've solved it and there's absolutely zero direct answers, which directly contrasts with anything else in the game since every other puzzle is rather trivial)

at any rate though i still can't help but wonder what our mr. rao of cow would think of the whole ordeal
also goes by "camwoodstock", "camwood", "cws", or some variant thereof
plays video games i think

I would actually love to see Spike McFang as a potential LP. It's kinda like an action RPG, but leveling up mostly just gives you more health. As long as you clear out enemies and shop smartly (although, RNG does play a factor), you can get through it with zero-to-minimal grinding (it isn't made to be too difficult). And it's not too long so it'd make for a fun little in-between LP for a week or two.
