Yesterday, my wife took our children Christmas shopping. As part of their sojourn, they went to some store with a "nice list/naughty list" detector - where children could stand under some fancy flashing lights to see whether their name appears on Santa's "nice list" or "naughty list" posted nearby. Presumably all takers land on the nice list; but there were some names on the naughty list for, at the very least, the look of the thing. Names are listed by first name and last initial.
My wife sent me a video of our six-year-old daughter - who enjoys watching raocow videos with her daddy - going through first and getting all excited about being on the nice list. Her brother went through next and had the same reaction. And then I hear my daughter say, "There's a naughty raocow!"
Pan over to the naughty list, which had as its fifth entry, "Rocco W." My daughter then amended her statement: "No, it's a different raocow!"
Rocco White is the real villain in Clue! (At least, I'd like to think so)
Oh man, now I finally know where that stupid garble music from that MaGLX level was from. Is the music in the game proper just as soul-wrenchingly bad? Because I think that has to be the worst 'video game music' ever. I actually mistook it for a creation by one of those low-budget sound mixing music software that are floating around.
I am prone to almost everything... except spontaneous violence.
Any questions, concerns, or aspirations you have with me can go to the PM box... Now here's a quote:

fun fact i didn't test the overworld events so that was unintentional lol!!
So yeah that was my super rushed level~ glad you liked it so much!! The first half was inspired by a Cool or Cruel level (Gonzo?) and the second half by a certain vldc9 level <3. But yeah there's not much else to say about the level, it just exists. Glad you liked it <3
The voice raocow should apparently never do again sounds remarkably like the one commonly attributed to this fine gentleman I share a dwelling with. It's probably a good thing raocow vowed never to speak in it again, though, as he'd probably be sued for copyright infringement.
That might have been the best "level gift" in Advent to date. The other ones were more about being cheerful, but this is just raocow having fun with a game and it did well at that.
Moosic credits first. All the music from this level are from the game Gunbound Season 3.
- Starting area and raocow's room: 'Inventory' (Theme song of Rena)
- Resort: 'Shop'
- Flying Long Jump: 'Channel' (Theme song of the planet "Lond")
- Climbing Course: 'Event 1'
- Brain Tickler: 'Event 2'
Now to point out all the things!
(1:25) - The picture on the wall he's referring to are the mascots of the Winter 2010 Olympics in Vancouver!
(2:01) - That's a Danny DeVito reference. Specifically from his role as Phil (from the Hercules movie) in Kingdom Hearts.
(2:58) - Q-bert's famous dying speech.
(3:03) - The Brain Tickler is a minigame that exists in Pajama Sam as well.
(3:28) - That reaction was all I really wanted to see. <3
(5:52) - Mentioned in the YT comments, but the Weavile really did put an ice block in place of the window immediately.
(6:57) - Well yes, Kuro is a Scrabbit, which is in fact a 'rabbit squirrel'. So hoopla on that!
(7:26) - The reason why I don't want the cat planet cat getting the leek is because he doesn't have a mushroom'd sprite sheet for it. So once the level restarts, the cat planet cat would've just turned to Mario upon starting the level again.
(7:36) - Peeps be wondering what happens if you break the TV. Well more TVs just spawn in its place so you can cause all the collateral damage. I wonder what's up with peeps thinking that I hide all the secrets.
So yeah, I really enjoyed making this thing! Sorry for not getting it done by the 12th as I initially planned, but you know, life is a thing.
Man, I didn't expect that gift to get to you quite that fast... that caught me off guard a little.
That drawing is actually something that I hoped would be another sibling of Demo. She has a large family, yeah? And sure, let's go with body horns. That's a pretty novel idea. My drawing isn't an A+ work like the others in the art thread, though I do draw decently enough, I think...
And yes, the poetry book. As soon as I saw that title, but one thought passed my brain: "Perfect". And so, if you feel listless for a day, pick up that book, and let your mind play...
Imagination is the bringer of hope, and I hope we can celebrate that together. Thank you raocow, for all that you've become. I can't thank you enough.
Also, that level today was good. I like the math joke. And the level from two days before that was also good. ...And pretty much every gift.
To be honest, I think I get what you mean about poetry.
Like, I love music. Paintings, digital art, basically visual things, I find those super neat if they're done well, or have a nice style to them. Other alternative arts even, like sculpting, jewelry making, carving, those are great. It's just poetry that never really got the same response from me.
I can appreciate some poems. Like lyrics, especially if they have a message or story in them (though most stuff by Jethro Tull is beyond me). But on the average day, I hear at least 10 songs, see a couple artistic images, maybe even see a physical thing, but I can go a month not hearing/reading a poem and I wouldn't notice.
I'm not trying to insult poetry or anything, don't take this the wrong way. Having tried in English class, I can safely say writing poetry comes no easier to me than understanding it, so I do appreciate that it's not an easy thing to do.
