I kind of get the feeling that it has to do with the Miis themselves - one of their characteristics is "Energy", so it may just be reflecting how more energetic people tend to do more things.

...Actually, that's probably it, considering how many people were astonished that their Miis never did anything and thus were a perfect reflection of themselves.

It's not intentional, no. Any events that happen are determined by the game, I don't deliberately follow particular characters around, and if it were up to me, I'd try to vary the appearances as much as possible. It's just the fact that the RNG determines when interesting things happen, and I upload whatever it comes up with. So major apologies to anyone who's dissatisfied with their amount of screen time, I try to spread things out, but I can only show what the game puts out. :c

That's only if they're in the process of raising a child. If they're childfree they're both free to do whatever they wish, but they do tend to spend more time at home nuzzling or chatting with each other (or friends).
