Re: Mighty No. 9 [TALKHAUSTROPHE REPOST]
It's just not living up to expectations that other similarly retro-minded games have. Graphically, it is disappointing since, yeah, concept art isn't going to be release art - but it isn't very good. Not being impressive is one thing, but it's not even appealing. I honestly think if they had spent the extra effort to go for pixel art then they may have had better visual appeal.
Mechanically, the demo was pretty eh. A lot of people felt it was off, but that may have been tuned for release.
The delays are really sad and I wish the game hadn't been planned for so many platforms. It probably would've helped the game release on time. Is it even having a full multi-platform release this month?
I doubt we will have many more Mega Man games from Capcom, so if this game flops it seems it is up to the fans to be the sole provider for the franchise's spirit to continue; just like Metroid.

The Vermillion Destroyer Trailer (Ray)
If Inafune's behind it, and he is, you know there's going to be a Zero-like character to try and steal the spotlight. Here she is. This character has to keep absorbing the power of enemies... or else.
Also, this trailer was done by Comcept and not Deep Silver, so it actually makes the game look fun and has no silly announcer.

That's not even trying to be an "other Zero"
That's straight up Zero
That's straight up Zero
Re: Mighty No. 9 [TALKHAUSTROPHE REPOST]
Fun fact: The number zero (零) is called rei in Japanese. This character's name is Ray, so it's an intentional pun. Thank you, Google Search.
Re: Mighty No. 9 [TALKHAUSTROPHE REPOST]
So the game's middling with a decent amount of content from reviews. About what I expected.

Cue Inti Creates never works again with Comcept outside this franchise

My fellow Americans:
I have no friends. This is because I'm an anime fan on prom night. As such, I got Mighty No. 9. But a brief warning. Humble Bundle included Ray DLC. GUESS WHAT YOU DON'T GET. The Ray DLC codes ARE ALL FOR THE RETRO HERO PREORDER DLC. They never stop screwing up, even when the game is released! Speaking of the game is released, the game isn't actually released yet and there's no timer for when it will. Hopefully, it actually DOES release. It'd be a hell of a time to delay it yet again, after giving out press copies and letting reviews come out.

Man, I said I was going to get this game if it's okay. Looks like I'm saving myself around $30. I can't believe how horribly the whole thing's been bungled by a longtime industry vet. From the way developement went, they actually tried to make the game on all these different platforms at once. I figured it was spreading themselves too thin that was the problem, but my goodness, that's about the dumbest thing I've heard from all of this along with the usual Comcept buffoonery.
Thank goodness for Gunvolt is about all I can say. The sequel looks to be building off the original which is a modified version of how Mega Man Zero and ZX played. MN9 is something that tries to do its own thing and fails spectacularly.

Also, let's not forget to mention I've seen someone say:
Everyone got the exact same PSN code/or at least they are all not working.
I'm not installing my Steam version until like, 5 months from now when maybe some of these issues are fixed.

I'm an idiot who likes vidya games.
And also maybe makes bad decisions based on those vidya games.

Yeah that's an option... I might end up doing that when I try playing it tomorrow. Doesn't make the issue any less stupid.Truhan wrote:Humble Bundle has a DRM-free direct download.Lostsoldier20 wrote:Also, let's not forget to mention I've seen someone say:

I figured this trainwreck would be over now that the game finally releases but it looks like it wasn't even the tip of the iceberg
Re: Mighty No. 9 [TALKHAUSTROPHE REPOST]
I'm glad I didn't get the game as of what I heard of bricking the Wii U console like that. Also I heard that the raitings are only halfway good... so like 5/10 or so...
Re: Mighty No. 9 [TALKHAUSTROPHE REPOST]
It's hard-locking it apparently and they're doing a patch. It's an amazing show, that's for sure.

I'm glad that I never got hyped for this game, lest I be disappointed like the majority of people. There are so many problems that I struggle to see anything they could do at this point.
Uh...Do I just sign here? What do you mean it should be obvious? There are people in this world...well...a whole lot of people that can't follow basic instructions!

Re: Mighty No. 9 [TALKHAUSTROPHE REPOST]
well i did a playthrough of the game and man, that was unfun. the game just loooooves instant death spikes and will put them everywhere. i think more then half of my deaths in the playthrough was just either dying in spike tunnels or enemies knocking me into spikes and since mercy invincibility doesn't effect spikes i just die instantly ala megaman1/sonic 1
shade's level was just the worst level though, its just a hallways that you have to run back and forth in while getting shot at.

What is the show that .gif is from? I've always wanted to know, but it's not like I watch much tv anymore.
Anyhoo, our local library is getting a copy of this game to check out. I'm pretty sure that's how I'll try it since I was talked down from dropping $25 out of nowhere on a bad game when I'm trying to save up every dollar I can nowadays.
